Very satisfying and relatively stress free 2-0 W.  Ramsey is a beauty...  love how he loves to progress the ball with his feet.  That run and finish was fantastic.  Also love Carney coming on and getting involved... fantastic ball for a tap in.  I want more Carney.  We saw a glimpse of our future and hopefully our present.

Disappointed with Young and Buendia today.  Ashley has his place in this squad for sure, but I think he's becoming Gerrard's binky a bit...  Carney in 7 minutes did more than Ashley in 58 or whatever it was.

First half I thought we were sensational at times, some really lovely football, dominating and picking them apart with passing, movement and balls into the box, they will have been delighted to get in at 1-0.

And there's a lesson for us - if we're going to play well, then we need to make sure we get the goals that play deserves - as it turned out, we spent half an hour of the second half looking a bit jaded and like we might throw it away.

For me, that period coincided with Young going off and Ings coming on - I like Ings, but I don't want to see Watkins as a ten - if Ings comes on Watkins should go off. The game was crying out for Chukwuemeka's ability to hold and move the ball and when he came on he delivered - a great game for the academy; a brilliant goal from Jacob Ramsey and a great assist from Carney.

I thought Cash was absolutely brilliant - he dominated that right hand side, marauding up and down like a pirate with highlights - I had him down as man of the match and he's had a fantastic season so far, long may it continue.

I thought the midfield were good throughout - it's a bit worrying that Young, Buendia and McGinn all went off with knocks and we'll have to hope that they're ready for Saturday - along with Luiz I thought they were great - some of the short passing stuff with the triangles and movement was sublime.

Centre backs were okay, the biggest problem we had was a bad Young pass, other than that, it's a night where Emi could have finished his book. 

The shape and the pattern are excellent - the 4-3-2-1 is crystal clear, you can see what we want to do with the ball and you can see what we want to do without it - the effort is there too, the players are buying into this and they're running for him - those are both excellent signs for our new manager - it's an impressive start to the Gerrard era.

We're a good side, with a good manager and a wonderful academy, heading in the right direction - it's a good night to be a Villa fan.

And a bad night to be a Leeds fan.

So life is sweet.

Gave MOTM for Ramsey for the goal, but it was a tough call because Luiz really ran the midfield for most of the match. We did fall off it a touch after the break, but truthfully I never felt worried or like we weren't basically in control.

A word for Konsa and Mings too, who won everything in the air.

Now we've played them, I can say best of luck to Deano, but they need to play the transfer window very smartly because injuries or no injuries the side they put out today would be struggling in Championship.

That was good three points, we really need to win games like these. I though we looked solid on the whole, but also a bit sloppy at times, this Norwich team is really bad, full of Championship players and they didn't look up for it. Dean Smith will work miricles if he manages to keep this bunch up. We should have scored more goals earlier, not bring it to a at times nervous last 15 mins until we scored the second.

I want Ings and Watkins to compete for the striker role, I don't think Watkins is slick and smooth enough in his passing to play the role behind the striker. Buendia showed once again that he is a class above the other players, and once again what an effort he puts in. Cash was really good again, my motm together with Buendia.

Also loved to hear our fans praise Dean Smiths!
