Did enough. Not a great performance but a professional one and got the job done! We certainly look a class above Norwich and we have to remember that 5-6 ages ago we looked pretty much on par. Quite the turnaround.

Cash MOTM

Targett solid, very good again back in a back 4.

Emi brilliant half hour then died off. Ginny, Douglas were class. Ramsey, what a goal. So pleased for him.

Young awful, Watkins awful but still got his goal.

Carney will start getting more and more game time now and hopefully signs da ting!

Gerrard couldnt have dreamed of a better start. 12/18 points. Thankyou very much

Voted Ramsey MOTM, he really impressed me today! Got that important first goal with a great run and finish. Thought he was quietly solid throughout the match...

First half good but should have been pushing for one or two more goals. Second half a very strange, how we almost let them back in the match, and started to look nervous. Fortunately we managed to keep them away, and then finally Chuck pushed through and helped Watkins with a confidence boost.

Certainly not a vintage performance or a performance that will live long in the memory. However, It was professional enough and a clean sheet under Gerrard so thats all good. Sets us up nicely for Burnley on Saturday in front of the villa park faithful. Even though Ollie was fairly quiet he still got an assist and a typical poacher goal and it was amazing to see the youngsters Jacob Ramsey and Carney Chukwumeka really step up and impress tonight. Their fearlessness and refusal to pass sideways at a key moment won us the game tonight. Hope we see more of them in our first team ASAP.

Cash had his best ever game for us. Superb running and energy. JJ scored a brilliant goal and again showed his qualities throughout the 90.

As easy a win as i can remember. At 1 nil i didnt feel remotely nervous.

Loving the 66.666666 win rate Steven

Awful is so over the top, they weren't as good as others but awful is exaggeration gone crazy.

Ramsey or Cash for MOTM. Both outstanding but plenty of other good performances out there too. Our midfield looks brand new under Gerrard, so organised and geared up to take control of the game. Great goal from Ramsey, his confidence is growing every week. Amazing to see Chukwuemeka assist for Watkins at the end, they both needed that.

A professional three points, I’m loving our football again now. Up the Gerrard!

Ironic that Chuk got his first assist against the man that didn't utilise him very much (even though he gave him his debut). Great game for Ramsey, shows that some of our recent academy graduates could make it after all.
