I just don't think it's feasible for the PL not to kick them out.

Each club invited are getting an additional £350 million a season. PL clubs just can't compete, and that's with the CURRENT tv deal.

They have to get kicked or the rest of the PL and EFL might as well just start their own league.

It's not even just that the top 6 will completely pull away from the rest, but the competition will be completely devalued. Once the title race is over or there are only 2 teams left in it, the only other thing left to play for is relegation. You could and probably would end up with about 12 teams "on the beach" half way through the season, then the integrity of the whole league is compromised.

Southgate is employed by the FA and can simply not choose players from certain clubs. No ban needed !

He'll refuse to pick any players from the 6, except Mason Mount.

I wonder what social media would have been like if it was around when the Premier League was formed?

It isn't quite the same. That was about top clubs getting a bigger piece of the cake. But it wasn't a closed shop. These guys have deceded on their own divine right to be above everyone else and are now pulling the ladder up.behind them.

Is this proposal actually any worse than the revised CL rules agreed today?

There are only 4 places for 'Elite clubs' as opposed to 15. 32 places for merit based qualification as opposed to 5.

True. It would have been the equivalent of the premier league being 20 teams with no relegation.

It’s quite good having a big, national breaking news story that is actually interesting to discuss on a Monday though isn’t it.

Doesn’t involve people dying too, which is always nice.
