I think that’s too many tbh,

1) I don’t think we will have the transfer budget for £20m a pop signings

2) We don’t want Half a new squad to try and bed in together for the style we want to play.
unless we are Happy to give smith another half season to get anything to click.

4 really good signings should be what we need

striker

CM

LB

CB

if they’re all straight up first teamers that is.

£100m across those four.

Striker and two wide forwards before CM or CB for me. Then fullbacks to give competition for places there too. Quality in those positions and then the rest of the team starts to look a lot better all of a sudden.

Not a bad idea, though I do wonder if he'll take on a larger role with Osimhen coming in and Milik on the way out. As a Napoli fan, I've felt that Gattuso should play him on the wing more than centrally, as he seems to be more effective there.

Where's Milik off to as he's starting tonight v Inter. I was also impressed with Younes when Ajax had that europa league final run three years ago, he's another not playing much at Napoli.

And....hear me out on this one....Alexis Sanchez. He's actually been playing quite well for inter Milan this season and started tonight ahead of Lauturo Martinez. I doubt Inter will sign him permanently nor will anyone apart from some Chinese clubs.

If he goes back to Man. United they'll obviously want to loan him out again so I can think of worse gambles especially if we get Man. United agreeing to pay 70& of his wages to get him in the shop window more.

That's the sort of player Grealish would love to link up with as Ozil and Alexis were always a great watch at Arsenal.

No where yet, but it's not a matter of if but when once the season ends.

Some good players on that Napoli bench anyway...Ghoulam, Allan, Lobotka, Younes, Lozano and Callejon. All would improve us considerably.

Pretty sure I read a year or two ago when Ghoulam was linked with Chelsea he was only on 30k a week at Napoli so that's probably less than Neil Taylor takes home weekly.

Couple of defensive midfielders I like that could help solidify us.

Manuel Locatelli, Sassuolo - Very disruptive and can move the ball forward when at his feet.

Mohamed Camara, RB Salzburg - Similar to Locatelli, but still unproven playing in Austria. Love the potential here, and he's only 20. An absolute bulldog.

Eduardo Camavinga, Stade Rennais - You know, just in case we want to outbid Real Madrid for somebody.

Yeah, most expect Allan to reunite with Ancelloti at Everton. Callejon was somebody I was arguing we should go after in January as his contract is up at the end of August. He's probably older than what they'll be looking for now, but if he's available on a free, I still think it could be a sharp signing.

As I see it, we'll need atleast 5 signings (maybe 6). Thats if noone of our better players leave.

Goalkeeper, Heaton is out for a long time I guess. Maybe a loan?

Central midfielder, I want a box to box midfielder.

2 wingers (with pace).

1 striker

Maybe a lb if the finances allow it.

The CB's are fine, I could live with our RB's, would like an upgrade on Taylor. A good b2b midfielder is needed to challenge and rotate with Mcginn and Hourihane. I like Wesley and think he will come good if the injury is ok but a new better striker is a must. AEG and Trez, well they need to be on the bench.

Whisper it quietly but Boga has had a really good season in Italy, he'll probably come back to England at some point but miles better now than the non factor he was at SHA (bit like Adama for us).

Is Berardi worth considering still or has his career stalled too much?

Ha, ironically enough there's a lot of smoke about Boga going to Napoli right now too. Likely as a Callejon replacement.

As for Berardi, he's no longer "The Future of Italian Football," but I think he's still an excellent player. The question is if Sassuolo will want to let him go. They've been pretty adamant about wanting to keep Berardi and Locatelli etc. How serious they are about that? I don't know. It's hard to read the situation there as it is so many places right now because of the pandemic and its financial impact. In the end, I think if somebody decides they really want Berardi and hit the magic number, Sassuolo would move him along.

Thoughts on both Sarr and Deulofeu (talented guy, excellent technique which we lack beyond Jack & Doug imo) ?

We need a new front 3 more than anything else, got to improve the attack and have genuine goal threat next season in all games.

Everyone knows we lack pace and don’t score enough goals, some genuine quality in these areas is sorely needed and would also help us against the bigger teams, we need to pose some kind of threat on the counter too...

As for CF, I really hope we show some major ambition and go for a genuine/potential star who we can rely on for goals...

We will create chances and Jack wins so many fouls, need a free kick specialist (who can also play) to take advantage and someone reliable to get on the end of them and stick the ball in the back of the net!

We should be going all out for the pair very disappointed if we don’t try

Problem is Sarr cost Watford 30m so think even going down Watford will be confident of getting that back given he had some good games from December onwards.

Think Deulofeu is more realistic although he is injured currently so not sure how far into next season before he's available.

I really wouldn’t mind grabbing a few players from the relegated teams as there is some genuine talent there. Watford (and Bournemouth) have had their moments and finished in decent positions during their time in the PL, they do have some good players that could be very effective for us and will be easier to sign now that they are down.

Not seen enough of of him but keep seeing Buendia’s name and I’m sure he would be an improvement on what we already have. El Ghazi & Trez should be no more than subs for us - we have to improve massively.

Wow, didn't realise Gattuso was manager of Napoli. Does he have incriminating pictures of people or something? Milan aside (where you should expect a decent win percentage), he's seemed like mad garbage.

Agree with the thinking that we shouldn’t get rid of or replace too many players but whoever we sign has to be a lot better than what we already have in certain positions, especially in attack.

GK- Heaton (Steer backup, get rid of Nyland & Kalinic). I think we need another, Foster to compete with Heaton?

RB - Guilbert (I like him and he will improve, maybe time for Elmo to move on and get someone younger in to compete)

CB - Mings

CB - Konsa (looking good, not a fan of Hause at all & I wonder whether we can/will reintegrate Engels. We may well need a new CB but, again, has to be better than what we have. Not a priority though, attack has to be strengthened more than anything)

LB - Targett (please let’s get rid of Taylor now, again not the greatest priority but it would be great if we can get someone to compete with Targett and maybe someone stronger defensively and physically who we can rotate depending on the game/opposition. We need viable options in every position)

CMs - McGinn & Luiz partnership (we could do with another option of comparable quality. Nakamba is very limited, Hourihane is not a dependable starter. Get rid of Lansbury)

AM - Grealish (he’s too good & irreplaceable, I have faith he will stay and we need to demonstrate ambition with our transfer targets. Also need someone who can alternate and fill in. A talented forward/winger could cover this position also)

LW - Someone new and a massive improvement on what we have. Crucial that we get this right.

RW - As above

(Trez & El Ghazi are simply not good enough at this level but not bad for squad depth)

CF - Need to make a statement signing here. Again, crucial.

(I have faith that Wesley will be good for us but we need better as our first choice, someone we can depend on for goals. Don’t rate Samatta, wouldn’t be fussed if he was let go but we would need at least another striker. No offence, but Davis cannot be getting games for us if we want to be an established PL side. Needs to go out on loan to develop and learn how to score goals.)

We have a lot of work to do in transfer market, need to aim high and give ourselves the best chance at having a good season. We have to try and establish ourselves and become a mainstay of the PL at least.

Apparently berardi has been really good the last few seasons. He hasn't progressed as much as expected but he seems to have made a pretty big jump this season with 13 goals and 7 assists in 29 games compared to 8 and 4 in 35 last year.

It seems he was incredibly hot to start the season though scoring 6 and assisting 2 before November so those stats should be taken with a grain of salt. But 7 and 5 is pretty decent in probably 16 or 17 games in a defenders league.

My opinion is that we desperately need a physical presence in the middle of the park, a player who is a good free kick taker as well as being good enough to be a starter for us in every game, a really rapid winger, a top striker and then some bargains like karlan grant who we should definitely go for 5 goals in 13 for an anemic Huddersfield attack is nothing to scoff at in the prem.
