Ah well. Pointless if it takes pre-season into account.
OutByEaster? Posted May 17, 2023 Moderator Share Posted May 17, 2023 Back mid-January gives him plenty of time to get fit for the Euros for Gareth, just in case he signs for one of the big six between now and then and gets picked.
The_Steve
He’s allowed to train from September 17.
sne
Banning him over the summer months seem pointless. Should be all of next season instead of half.

tomav84 Posted May 17, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted May 17, 2023 so basically a 5 month ban then as 3 months of it is the off season...and he can start training a month into the new season. bit of a farce that.
Made In Aston
Just now, sne said: Banning him over the summer months seem pointless. Should be all of next season instead of half. He also has a knee injury. The ban timing is very convenient for him and England! I don't think players should be allowed to serve a ban when injured and it should be postponed until they are available for selection.

Xela
Should be 8 months from the start of next season. Banning him over the summer months is stupid.
The_Steve
Very curious how many goals he’s scored or assisted in since he admitted guilt and the decision today.
bannedfromHandV
So he’s banned whilst he’s off on holiday anyway, good one FA, that’ll tell him. 1
AndyM3000
Unless he's been betting on Brentford games I really don't see the issue. The clubs are plastered with these gambling companies but he cant bet on football, ridiculous. He's got the same ban that Ferdinand got for "missing" a drugs test. Whilst I agree with the sentiment that the rules are a bit of a joke, he's breaking them in the same way rio was, and he did it several hundred more times. They should ban gambling sponsors (they have now..) and they should rate missed drugs tests as a higher offence (they do, he missed one and got the same length ban). But still feels wrong. Also, hardly helping spurs, he's injured anyway.
leemond2008
Ivan Toney is a **** idiot, as soon as he knew the severity of his charges he should have pushed for a move (on a permanent or loan basis) to the Blues, because of his idiocy he has landed himself with an 8 month ban when he could have had a suspended 2 match ban
Brentfordnylons Posted May 17, 2023 Visiting Supporter Share Posted May 17, 2023 Only loser here is Brentford football club Toney will fly off to Dubai or similar still drawing his considerable wages and have a life of luxury.Meanwhile his value to the club will have greatly reduced while his potential personal gain will increase.I think the ban is a lot less than I expected I was expecting him to move on for a lot of money this summer but that’s not going to happen.Just another example of over paid thick footballers I would add most of these bets were placed before he joined Brentford

est1874
Still find it absolutely incredible that he was allowed to play on and bang in loads of goals while being investigated, with the authorities aware of a mountain of evidence against him. How was that allowed to happen? Imagine being able to go into work every day as if everything was normal even though you were caught up to no good on countless occasions. Only in football, man. **** disgusting 3
