Smith created the team and got Hogan firing, signed Benrahma, Watkins, Konsa and Canos and put the foundations in place

Smith didn't sign those players. He may have approved them a bit, but Brentford's ridiculously good scouting team managed all of this.

No. They were a playoff team BEFORE Smith. Not a playoff team under Smith. And a playoff team AFTER Smith. Don't make up history.

Also, Smith didn't sign anyone. Coaches are responsible for transfers at Brentford.

The only fair way if they are not going to write the whole season off would be for teams to play their games in hand , probably behind closed doors and have a 29 game season

That would mean we'd have to beat Chelsea at home to relegate Watford instead of us. It's quite a big ask but with a Chelsea squad member testing positive for the virus I can't see this happening either.

I think the best case scenario for us is they write off the whole season....Deano steps down in the Summer...and we go again with more experience knowing that we've twice made teams up of young talent from other leagues and both times we've struggled big time to stay in the division.

Our game in hand is Sheff U.

Yeah we got no chance against Sheff Utd.

They will bully us

Mental scars of throwing away a 3-0 lead with 8 minutes to go last year at Villa Park.  Also huge pressure if they win they could be 5th and qualify for Champions League.  John McGinn back, night game, full house if allowed.  I would back us to win that one.

Not for 3 years they weren't.

you made it sound like he took over directly after they were in the play-offs. Another manager replaced Warburton who played a different style of football and they lost 15 million worth of talent that summer that Dean never got to manage including Andre Gray.

Brentford also changed owners after Warburton to a different transfer strategy which is why he walked out

Would just say our luck of this season that Covid-19 Would be the cause of us going down. Not saying it will happen but given that weve had problems with our players, our Coach's, our signings, Scouting, officating, FFP and that god damn VAR, it really has felt like a marriage and we're in dire need of some serious therapy and counselling, but Corona is here and its going to tip us over the edge.

If it comes to being relegated by all this nonsense, we know well that even diseases didn't want us in the premier.

Why would it result in us going down? We were in absolutely dire form and heading down before the virus stopped play.

He signed all of the players I mentioned, don’t belittle his achievements to suit your argument. I was merely stating a fact

Every single player will be back from injury when all this is over.

No one will be match fit.

It will be kind of like Pre Season when the league returns.

Sure as hell will be interesting to see how the teams that were on form and had momentum will do.

It could save us from relegation
