I can remember going to Wembley against Man Utd in 1994 and we were not doing great in the league and they were going for the treble and we beat them pretty comfortably. West Ham beat Southampton at home. Watford beat Liverpool at home. It's a sign. Yet on the eve of certain defeat a fire has started to burn deep within me. My dad was from Aston. He is the reason that I support villa and also the reason my son does too. He was a negative bastard my dad. He is sadly no longer with us but I remember 1994. The night before the final we were sat at home and I asked him what he thought the score would be. I expected the usual negative rubbish response but he looked me square in the eyes and said “logic tells me we are going to lose. They are much better than us. They should win easily but we are Aston Villa son. We will win tomorrow.” Maybe I am just feeling sentimental but we are Aston Villa. We invented football in this Country. We have won the lot. We have been winning the lot for practically 150 years. We may not win tomorrow but nothing will change that and if those **** from the north west are gonna take it from us, they are gonna have to fight all the way and even then, they will never be Aston Villa!
