Signed Chico Hamilton and Pat McMahon and Bruce Rioch (I think). Used to come onto the pitch in a sheepskin coat and walk over to the Witton Lane stand where they sat on benches (from memory). Kids used to run on the pitch to greet him. Villa were red hot favourites to go up next season. Instead lost 0 - 1 to Norwich in the first match and spiralled down to be relegated . His office was at the back of the Black Hole of Calcutta (the toilets) By standing on my tip toes I could see in the windows of the building and see his name on the door.
