Our trend is so consistent.....we score and miss chances and the opposition creep back in to the game.

We clearly need to buy to stabilise the composure and the control of the game.

Our individual errors always seem to result in a goal too.

Right, that’s that out of the way. A good point. Probably should have been 2/3 up at half time but they really came at us second half. 

Grealish best player on the pitch.

Delighted with the first half performance. We dominated them. Jack was incredible. El Ghazi offered a great deal and Targett looked wonderful. 
 

Second half devolved into hit and hope to Wes. I sometimes can see that Heaton played for Burnley. Beyond some nice passes, Wes didn’t offer a lot second half for me. He v much looks like a player learning his trade, I think that’s kind.

 

Defensively, we get nervous. Mings tried to take control but always has an error in him. Guilbert looked good for me - despite being a bit exposed. I think Ezri is a good player but is being a bit too deferential to Mings.

 

What worries me is the lack of change we can make from the bench. Lansbury was nowhere. Trez is so raw but showed some good stuff. For me, Wes should’ve been off and McGinn was faded. Again.

 

I would’ve taken a point. Now I’m disappointed because united are awful, like properly awful. Anyway, I hope that ends the top six whodo, mind. Offensively, we’re easily good enough to stay up.

Good point, no worse than liverpool got at old trafford and better than leicester

man utd's troubles this season have been away from home, they have been pretty strong at old trafford

not really - we changed against Liverpool and arguably those changes cost us - since then we haven't gone gung ho with the changes and have 4pts

I agree, they’re not that bad at all and will finish much closer to the top six than we will.

• Heaton - played very well
• Guilbert - superb, some very well timed slide tackles, and generally showed good decision making throughout. Didn't do a lot going forward.
• Konsa - mostly excellent. Need to rewatch the goals to see who exactly was at fault.
• Mings - besides one very stupid pair of mistakes which cost us a goal, he was superb, and redeemed himself with a well taken goal.
• Targett - excellent
• Douglas Luiz - his best game in a Villa shirt I think
• Hourihane - played fairly well, but we didn't exploit his set piece delivery at all. Why isn't he on all corners? When he did take a corner, he played it short and got caught offside.
• McGinn - excellent work rate, looked dangerous on the transition, never really got in a shooting position though
• El Ghazi - I think he would have been very dangerous in the second half if he hadn't got injured. A shame to lose him. Hope nothing too serious.
• Grealish - absolutely brilliant goal, and won a lot of fouls, which helped us control the pace of the game. Ironically, not one of his best games, but the match highlights will get opposition fans interested in him.
• Wesley - his best game in a Villa shirt IMO. He won a lot of headers, both in attack and defence, which I haven't really seen from him before. Some lovely flicks. Still needs to show better movement when we're attacking the box, but this was a much improved performance.
• Trezeguet - a downgrade on AEG from an attacking perspective, but his work rate helped us stay in the game in the second half. Nearly scored a world class goal.
• Lansbury - can see why Smith doesn't like making subs

Overall, not a bad performance, and a deserved point. However, Man Utd looked crap and were there for the taking. We need to sort out our set pieces. We have a genuine threat on set pieces, but it all looks like it's improvised on the spot.

For about 25 years I have dreaded this fixture but not today. A point was the least we deserved. The confidence this will give the team is worth another few more points alone.

There aren’t many Man U players that are better than ours at the moment. Man U are proving to be the exception to the rule that you can buy success in football.

Can’t wait for Chelsea now!

A great opportunity to win today but we can't look past how good a result this is.

Not sure if I'm allowed to mention streams in this thread but while it's great that I can watch these games, the one I had today with a chat box next to it, **** me there are some absolute clowns on this planet right now.  From pretending there's been a goal to saying the Queen had died and they wouldn't play the second half.  Proper weirdos.
