Random question. Would anyone take Joe Allen if we could get him for a reasonable fee?

Honestly, I think he would be a better signing than Drinkwater.

He’s excellent for wales, don't think he wants to resettle though or he would be in the Premier league with somebody already , I think he has motivation for country not much for club

In that case he’ll be the only person in human history that would rather stay in Stoke.

Maybe club should look at Israel striker Shon Weissman of Wolfsberger AC.He's 23 year's old and has 17 goals in 17 games this season!!

With the Muslim contingent in our squad and fanbase, not sure that would go down too well.

Is it wrong to say Austrian Bundesliga has some League 1 level teams?

He's now top scorer in Austrian Bundesliga, so realistically we won't stand chance.

Just read Leicester & Spurs want him currently.

The total lack of any player value when we need to part ways is something that has utterly destroyed us.  We have pissed away so much money on worthless players for many years. We've been utterly disfunctional for so long.

Haaland played there before going Dortmund. We won't get Weissman anyway bigger clubs will be after him as he's now top scorer in Austrian Bundesliga

so we currently have:

- the only Zimbabwian (17m population) in the Prem - Nakamba.

- the only Tanzanian (59m population) in the Prem - Samatta,

- 2/4 Egyptians (98m population)  in the Prem - Elmo/Trez.

- 1/3 Americans (327m population)  in the Prem - Vassilev (recently youth promotion to bench)

- Only Montenego (0.7m population) player in the Prem - Sarkic (not yet in squad)

wonder if they commercial aspect played any decision in these signings (not inc. Vassilev/Sarkic)...... :)

Next step is to sign an extraterrestrial player just in case there is life out there somewhere in the galaxy. Imagine the potential support we could have 👽 👽 👽

Did we not just get £2.5m for a crap player with 6 months left on his contract?

Quote

Aston Villa are keen on Rio Ave's Mehdi Taremi as they look to sign a second striker in the January window after completing a deal for Mbwana Samatta.

The Iran international has scored six goals in 13 Portuguese top-flight games since a summer move from Al Gharafa, and he is said to be on Villa's list of considerations.
Villa signed Samatta from Genk on a four-and-a-half-year contract on Monday evening and before the deal was completed, manager Dean Smith said the club was hoping to add one more.

With Aston Villa 'very close' to signing Mbwana Samatta, Dean Smith is hopeful another striker will follow
"It's something we're talking about all the time," Smith said. "Suso [Villa sporting director Jesus García Pitarch believes the same as well, so it's something we're looking for and looking to press on with as well."

I doubt he'd have to move??

Taremi has a 138 minutes per goal strike rate for them in the league this season as well as a 166 minutes per assist rate for them.  Those are some great numbers. Unfortunately, he's only really played in a European league for only half a season so there's question marks whether he can maintain this kind of form. He's also turning 28 this year so not really a purchase for the future.
