I assume it's loan fee and option to buy rolled up into it. So if they don't want to buy him next summer they just pay us the loan fee and he returns to us. Or like we did with Coutinho they negotiate the fee down and buy him.

These options don't benefit Villa because if he scores 20 goals for them he'll be worth more than €13m including his loan fee. If he scores 10 and they want to sign him permanently they can negotiate a lower fee.

13 million Euros for a fella who hasn't really played for 2 years and has 1 year left on his contract. Er no.

There is a difference between the word option and obligation.

How in the world could a Segunda Division team afford a €13m transfer?

Probably only 10 clubs or so in La Liga that could.

The option will just be left there even if has a wonderseason

The only situation is if he has a wonder season and other clubs are interested in buying him for a price above €10m. Assuming the loan fee is €3m. If Levante want to keep him but other clubs are willing to bid more than €10m then they're able to exercise the option.

At the present time given what he's been through and how long he'll have left on his contract next summer. You'd say it's unlikely the option would be exercised.

You gotta love VT for nonsense like this as a response to a point about the difference between option to buy and obligation to buy. 🤣

3 million loan would be top 5 Levante transfer fees ever.

I would be shocked if we got a 1 million loan fee and we are probably covering 80% of his wages
