rjw63
Bruce is probably the best candidate. But can you imagine saying that 10 years ago? 5 thousand fans with pitchforks and torches would have been out on Trinity Road.

Wow. People have concluded based on circumstances and candidates that we are aware of that his record objectively indicates good for promotion and so have decided to be supportive of his possible appointment = a red carpet reception. **** hell. Yes it may be a damning indictment of where we are but IT IS where we are. We have not just come off a title winning season or an excellent start to a campaign.

AvfcRigo82
For some reason I am thinking Chris Hughton might be the next best option.. That's if Mancini says no to us first!
NulliSecundus
If Dyche gets the gig I honestly don't know what we are playing at. Basically a Bruce we have to pay compensation for. I have no confidence that his ceiling is any better than Bruce when (if) we get back to the Premier League.

Would take either though.
Nigel Posted October 11, 2016 VT Supporter Share Posted October 11, 2016 Dyche comes with no baggage what so ever. That is reason enough to have above Bruce any day.

We dont know what Dyches ceiling is, but we do know Bruces! Either have history of getting out of this league, Dyche did it playing the right way too.
AntrimBlack
Dyche and Bruce. Both boring. I still think Xia will go for someone else.

Rodders
Dyche has done very well over about 4-5 seasons with Burnley, promoted and relegated. Bruce has done well with clubs being promoted and more experience in the top flight over a longer number of years. It depends how much you think Dyche brings a different freshness and whether you think Bruce who at 55 is not over the hill really is an old dog with old tricks.( though his last promotion was er, last season ) I like Dyche too, but there's always the issue that when someone has done very well with a particular club in their first main job, it's partly that magic fit between the man and the club, the style and the resources available. It might turn out to be unfair but equally Bruce has achieved promotions with multiple clubs.
Popular Post Richard
I look at Dyche at Burnley and I think Graham Taylor Watford mid 80's. Now I accept maybe this is me being nostalgic and potentially trying to equate our situation now to then and looking for a similar solution. Also that similar solution may not work or I am trying to fit something. I accept all that. I'll also throw into the mix that I do not want Steve Bruce to be manager as I think it is totally retrograde. I accept that as well. But, being honest, it is my gut feeling that he is a the better alternative out of the two. He is on an upward trajectory, he would offer longevity , his playing style is not bad and we need a new style and identity and he is ready for the next big job. IN a few years I just feel we may look back and say if only. Just my opinion.
Craigy1874
yeah Bruce or Dyche and I am happy (well as happy as I can be supporting this absolute disaster of a team).
