dubliner
Putting last season aside (which we have to do now if we're to move forward) Bacuna is not a bad player at all. He's more than capable at this level. I feel for de Laet but it is what it is.

striker Posted September 17, 2016 Visiting Supporter Share Posted September 17, 2016 Losing Amavi last season was a major blow as it took Villa's only real wide attacking intent out of the team. Losing De Laet, while disappointing and infuriating, may not have the same affect as Amavi is available now and the manager can use Bacuna as a decent replacement until January. If there was another LB available and unattached to a club could Villa sign him now?

Last season it was Amavi who got injured quite early into the season and was then out for the rest of it. You could add Traore to that list as well. Might not have been one injury but he was injured for most of season.

Grasshopper
is he really "Out for the season"? or is there just a slight chance that his recovery is ahead of schedule and he's back for the run-in? be that from Jan/Feb/Mar or April?
