Oh bugger,  I didn't realise twitter has spoken. My understanding is twitter undertook the scan at the twitter hospital within 2 minutes of him leaving the pitch so there is no way this kind of inside specialist knowledge is going to be wrong.

Bacuna for the rest of the season then.

Like I said,  twitter NEVER Lies! :P

I think Bacuna was very unlucky to lose his place and I'm confident he will do us fine. However that's kind of irrelevant now, I'm absolutely gutted for Richie and it sucks to lose a player so early.

One thing I am confident of is that come January if we need reinforcements they will come.

Bacuna has been good this season so I don't think it's too much of a blow. If Bacuna gets injured though, that's when things get worrying

Yeah of course. But we can't expect more than 2 able players in each position and to be honest if Hutton or Richards can't hack it as third choice right back in the championship they should retire right now.

As long as we don't employ Remi Garde and refuse to back him in January we should be ok. Oh and not get relegated.

The team were booed off loudly in the last game. We now need to start a player who every time he touched the ball last year was booed.

Absolutely terrible timing.

He got a rousing reception on Wednesday. I'm sure he's walking a tightrope, but then the team needs to deliver full stop.

I thought the applause was more for Ritchie. The crowd seem ready to blow after these constant frustrating results. We're now putting an easy target back infront of the firing squad. I hope it doesn't add to the negativity.

I'd nearly go with Bacuna as a wingback and bring Baker in alongside Elphick & Chester rather than use Bacuna or Hutton as orthodox rightbacks.

I have been thinking the last week or so that 3-5-2 might be the way to go. I'm not normally a bit fan of having 3 at the back but i think it could address what i think is a pretty unbalanced side. In theory, it puts more bodies in the middle of the park (which i consider to be our weakest area), it gives us more width, and it provides attacking options from the bench instead of trying to squeeze every forward into the first 11. Oh and i think James Chester is probably more suited to a 3 aswell.

I'm sure this is me being absolutely mad but I remember thinking when we got first linked to de Laet I was sure he was known for getting injured a fair bit. I've no idea if that's the case but hearing he was out for the season instantly reminded me of it.
