Bradley Dack from Gillingham, get him in.......................

He is quality I have mentioned him on here before we well!! If we could sign him could easily be our best goalscoring midfielder since David Platt! He bangs them in for fun for Gillingham! Bristol City had a bid rejected in January for him which was around £2mil. So he wouldn't come cheap!

Would like us to try for Anthony Limbombe (NEC) in summer

We was linked with him under Lambert when he was playing in Belgium. 19 goals in 50 for a winger for them!! They turned down £1mil approach from Leeds for him in January.

If Christian Santos still has that ridiculously low release clubs at NEC we should be in for him, scored against Ajax at the weekend and has pretty much 20 goals already this season.

Do you solely judge a player based on what club they play for?

No but normally these threads are full of people wanting us to sign 'XXX' from wherever for £10m because he's good on some computer game. Now it's, this has been clogger from Barnet might be slightly less shite than the turds we have in our current squad. How depressing.

Christian Santos is out of contract in summer. Navarone Foor of NEC is as well! He sets up a fair few for Santos.

Those 2 and Limbombe are all worth looking at!!

Jesus people actually want to see us sign players from Gillingham and reading now. How low can we go?

He is one of the best players in League 1 (in least the top 5 players in that league) you donut! Bet you was saying the same about Dele Alli when he was at MK Dons and we was linked with him wasn't you ;)

Shaun Teale was bought in from Bournemouth, Mark Delaney from Cardiff and many other examples of lower league players we have bought that are streets ahead of shite like Richards and other cloggers we have at moment. I'd take those players over anything we have at moment

I've got no problem with signing lower league players, IF they are the quality ones that perform for their clubs. We've signed too many that aren't even the best at their league 1 club! Westwood, Lowton, Stevens, Bennett, Bunn to name a few

It's nothing to do with the player, it's just the general situation the club is in where signing league one players or whoever for £1.7m is now our level. We should be buying players for £20 million. We are Aston villa not Lincoln xxxxing city.

I know what you mean, but transfer fee is pretty poorly correlated with actual ability.

We had plenty of luck signing players for little money from unfashionable places in the past, okay not so much in recent years, but we just have to get it right.

the weird thing about those players was that none of the was the star player of their clubs. Westwood had been outshined and outperformed by a younger Nick Powell, Bunn was second choice at Norwich, stevens, Bennett and Lowton were just decent players in their clubs. Weird that we signed them expecting them to improve a premier league club.

If we sign lower league players, then they have to be the star players of the division, otherwise they are not good enough to step up.

There's just something very odd about most of our recruitment over the past 4 years or so.

We usually put this down to incompetent bungling on the part of people who didn't know enough about football with an inadequately resourced scouting system. But sometimes I do wonder whether there is a little more to this than just bungling.
