Darren Randolph has impressed me a lot in his games for ireland and did well for west ham in the cup vs Liverpool when I watched it, get him signed up, he woukd be cheap and eager for first team football I reckon.

he isnt a bad kicker of a ball either

Darren Randolph isn't that good a keeper at club level though. He didn't really pull up many trees at Blues and let's in lots of goals!

Sam Johnstone and Daniel Bentley are both worth looking at as they are out of contract in summer and smallish fee hopefully from tribunal. Neil Etheridge at Walsall is a decent keeper as well!!

He's been fine at West Ham....played in all their FA cup games and also the league victories at Liverpool and I think Man. City.

Would be a good pick up but why leave when they could make CL next season and as their cup keeper he could play a game or two in that competition?

Would also count towards their homegrown players quota no?

Probably will wan't to hold on to him if so.

Some suggestions from me:

GK : Jason Steele (Blackburn), Kieran Westwood (Sheffield Wednesday), David Marshall (Cardiff).

IV : Michael Keane (Burnley), Harry Maguire (Hull), Liam Moore (Leicester), Marc Wilson (Stoke), Daniel Agger?(Bröndby), Christopher Samba (free Agent in the Summer) or something different like Marco Russ (Frankfurt).

RV,LV : Luke Garbutt,Todd Kane (for another loan move from Everton/Chelsea), Phil Bardsley (Stoke) or something different like Santiago Garcia (Werder Bremen).

DM/ZM : Gareth Barry of course, Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe (Norwich), Liam Bridcutt (Sunderland), Tom Huddlestone (Hull, running out of contract), Peter Whittingham (Cardiff), John Fleck (Coventry), George Thorne (Derby) or even Alex Mowatt (Leeds). I would love Will Hughes but I doubt this is possible.

RM/LM : Anthony Pilkington (Cardiff), Serge Gnabry (Loan from Arsenal), Matt Phillips (has not the best of seasons but he's still quality IMO), Ryan Fraser (Bournemouth(on loan to Ipswich), Stuart Dallas (Leeds), Ahmed Elmohamady (Hull) or something different like Yeni N'Gbakoto (Metz).

OM : I agree with Zach Clough, Alan Judge (Brentford), why not bring back Stephen Ireland (Stoke), Jonathan de Guzman (Carpi loan from Napoli) or why not loan a hungry youngstar like Kasey Palmer (Chelsea).

ST : Dwight Gayle or Fraizer Campbell (Crystal Palace), Peter Crouch (Stoke), Simon Terodde (Bochum), Will Keane (Man Utd), Britt Assombalonga (Forrest), Steven Fletcher (Marseille loan from Sunderland) or something different Eduardo (Shaktar, will have bids from the Chinese SL I believe...).

I know this is a lot, and I doubt that you will agree with all of them.

Pls give me a feedback for my first post. In witch casses do you agree with me. I know my suggestions were often older players.

For sure we should get some younger players as well. I mostly picked the more experienced players who I think could help us back up.

Some decent suggestions there Denis! Excellent first post!

The foreign one's you have suggested are interesting! I wouldn't go for the following: Westwood or Steele. Samba would want too much wages or Phil Bardsley

Wouldn't go for Ireland, Steven Fletcher either.

If we could i'd like to see us make moves for  Zack Clough, Bradley Dack, Rico Henry, Tom Bradshaw, Cyrus Christie at Derby and maybe try again for Santos of NEC as well as Limbombe also of NEC.

Johnstone of Man Utd and Daniel Bentley are two excellent keepers who are out of contract in summer as well..

Thanks to you all.

I think Ireland has still some quality, and he would be very cheep.

But you must know better than me.

Did something happen between Villa and Ireland, I don't know, can someone pls tell me?

We signed Ireland without having a manager in place which made a lot of fans uneasy from the start, he was simply an add on in the Milner deal.

And things never really got much better meaning he joined the ever expanding group of players that were paid a kings ransom and offered very little in return. Which kind of sums Villa up over the last 6yrs.

Plus he was mad as a box of frogs.

Do you think there'd be any chance of getting Callum Wilson? Can see Bournemouth going big this summer will he be a casualty?

doubt it but Glenn Murray could be and he is very handy in Championship

Yes Murray is a good shout.

Wilson is still the best striker Bournemouth has. And Bournemouth payed 7 Million pounds for Grabban(!), so they would probably want 10+ Million pounds for Wilson, and I doubt we would pay that in the summer on one player.

Bentley sound alike a perfect choice, don't know too much about Johnstone. Interesting s outs report on Bentley

Great post! Some very realistic signings in here which I think we should look at. David Marshall would be a class signing IMO.

The suggestion of Stephen Ireland did make me retch a little though.

Our player of the season one year wasn't he? Or did I imagine that
