briny_ear Posted February 27, 2016 Share Posted February 27, 2016 Derby, Swindon and Sunderland were all worse. Derby comfortably so. I suppose one difference is that Swindon and Derby were teams who got to the premier league almost against the odds and never really had a chance of establishing viable premier level squads. Sunderland have more of a premier league history but have always struggled and been a bit of a yo-yo club. But Villa have been transformed from a club with a longstanding premier league pedigree and a decent record of top half finishes to one whose squad is maybe not even good enough for the Championship. Money was not king back when it started so teams coming up were always up against it. Now it is and to be in the position we are now just underlines the crapfest that is our club! I have no idea if the PL was weaker when Derby flopped or now, and frankly i don't care. Arguing over which turd smells worse is pointless, those Derby, Villa and Sunderland team are all crap. One fact for me is this is the worst villa team in my year of being a villa fan and I am 33 years old. And we have had some pretty poor sides previously. But this side wow takes the biscuit.
