I would imagine this would be bad news for Gil if it comes off.

Why?

Sherwood showed a strong propensity last season for playing with 2 number 10's. He made a comment the other day about Gil and Grealish playing together. We've not been able to do that so far due to injuries, we had no replacement for a knackered Grealish on Saturday.

Having 3 number 10's isn't overkill, especially if as I said you have a propensity for playing 2 at a time.

He can play as a forward it seems. I wonder whether that is Sherwood's plan... Pretty bold if so.

If Sherwood wanted to play without a big target man, Ljajic up top with Grealish, Traore and Veretout or Gil behind, then I would be all for it. Would mean we'd have to start keeping the ball and playing attractive football in order to score :)

Welcome

What!?! Why do people bother posting this shit still!?

Anyway, I wonder whether this will follow the pattern of most of our other transfers this summer:

- Reports of our interest break out in foreign media

- Lots of our fans state that they just cannot see it happening.

- Reports and speculation increases and people start to believe it's happening.

- It becomes entirely clear that it will happen.

- It then goes quite for a day or two causing cries of "Nah this isn't happening!" and "Typical Villa to **** this one up"

- Reports suggest another club is in for the player causing mass panic and knicker wetting.

- Players signs and widespread group masturbation breaks out.

Would mean we'd probably go down. Be absolute suicide.

I was with ya all the way dude but you missed out the key element that seals the deal - the Timmy facial!

Ljajic is being looked at to play as a striker for aston villa, for fans asking about a striker. He's a competent finisher and capable https://twitter.com/hashtag/avfc?src=hash

Well obviously I don't know how to do the fancy twitter embed thing on there but the info is basically there.

Darren Lewis from The Mirror now reporting it..

Aston Villa are in talks to sign attacking midfielder Adem Ljajic from Roma.

Spurs also have an interest in the player who replaced their £30million misfit Erik Lamela at Roma.

It is understood Ljajic will cost around £8million. He was close to joining Manchester United six years ago during his time at Partizan Belgrade.

United decided against pursuing the move, however, and Ljajic joined Fiorentina a year later.

He joined Roma two years ago but is surplus to requirements following the signings of Mohamed Salah from Chelsea and Edin Dzeko from Manchester City.

But with Traore, Ayew, Sinclair and gabby as well, theres only so many you can play behind a striker.

I'd say we had less chance of going down with that line up than the one we were putting out last season.
