Guest av1
So between 2005 and 2014, he scored 18 goals. That really is Heskey/Gabby level scoring.
andym
his general all round play has been much improved recently, but hes missed some great chances in the last few games. Not a natural goalscorer at all.
Spoony
He offers absolutely nothing. Misses sitters in the air and apparently heading the ball is his only ability. Does not otherwise move or contribute in any way and doesn't know how to win a ball from an opponent. Needs to leave the club. Dr_Pangloss
His hold up play is looking much better, but he's **** useless in front of goal, as bad as I've ever seen.
KSV
To be fair i thought he was very good. Won most things in the air against a few tough customers.. nice control and lay offs bringing others into space and creating space for Ayew. He did miss a few good chances.. but sometimes that happens. He just needs to put it all together now. Hes getting better. Would be a good option on the bench if we sign Remy/Austin style forward in January.
srsmithusa
Still not convinced, but today was the first time I thought he looked like he might develop into something of a player
ozvillafan Posted December 27, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted December 27, 2015 Won everything in the air. Worked hard in defense. Won the penalty. Got a good shot on too, smartly saved by Adrian. Only a goal was missing. On that performance he stays as first choice over Agbonlahor and Kozak.
KSV
I agree however we can't afford to have him first choice. Need one maybe two more strikers

Butterfingers
Been very good in the past 2 games. Great to have in our own box as well, when defending set pieces. If we persist with him, I would like to see Baccuna at RB, given the quality of cross that he can deliver. Benteke benefitted last season, Gestede could do the same this time around. Neither him or Hutton are great defenders and I don't see that much between the two. People talk about "going for it". In that case, it has to be Baccuna at RB because of his attacking qualities. guyavfc
Thought he was very good yesterday, always looked a threat. However I think we should be playing more of a 442 with wingers so we can get the best out of him.
AVTuco Posted December 27, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted December 27, 2015 Got us an important goal, I give him that.
West
I think Amavi's absence has cost Gestede 5-6 goals this season. He's the only one that could put it on a six pence for what he's good at.
Stevo985 Posted December 27, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted December 27, 2015 His all round play seems to be improving. We also seem to play better with him on the pitch judging by the past couple of games. But his finishing remains pretty poor.

Cliffy Biro
When your best attribute is in the air and even that you are distinctly average at you know you're in trouble. Might be useful when we go down but never a premierleague player. Ever.
Dr_Pangloss
Should have played Traore in but the pass was despicable, Sunderland then go and score. Horrific.

Cant head, cant pass, cant finish and cant run. He might be isolated but he makes his runs too late, reacts to the cross rather than moving to be aimed for. Cant control the ball and when able to just passes it back to the player who gave it him. Ill be surprised if he scores 2 more this season. Humanoid
And the wooden spoon award goes to every Villa fan who has shown painstaking patience with this player for the past 4 months.
HeyAnty
Whoever scouted and decided to buy him should be sacked. Not the lads fault but he isnt anywhere near a prem league quality player as its very obvious to most.
