omariqy
Welcome Jordan. I hope your signing means we don't have to see much of Gabby this year!
DCJonah
Why are people so bothered about what we spend on a player. Anyway good read here:http://www.myjoyonline.com/sports/2015/July-24th/al-smith-what-aston-villa-get-from-12m-jordan-ayew.php Because we don't have a bottomless pit of money and there are other areas we need to strengthen. We've just had the worst goal scoring season in the history of the club and lost our best goal scorer. Signing attacking players has to be the priority at the moment otherwise we are getting relegated.
stewiek2
Looking at the clips his finishing, though raw, has a bit of the Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbank about it. Very little back lift and like a bullet.

I'm assuming the post I quoted was referring to the posts about whether it was £ or €, value for money is definitely an important part of the game now esepcially with FFP. Hence why there is so much discussion about the prices we are paying for players. Why are people so bothered about what we spend on a player. DCJonah
But like others have said we don't know the budget, the people signing the players do. No point being bothered about what we spend on one player when you don't know how that will effect other signings.

I think the reported fee for Ayew is pretty much on point with the current market...seems to be some conflicting reports on weather the bid was made in Euros or Pounds. You'd think Euros I guess. What I mean by people worrying over fee was meant that if they fit are budget/FFP/whom Sherwood sees doing a job for us I don't really care what the fee/wages are. Ceemo
I have watched a lot of French football over the years, so I know quite a bit about Jordan Ayew and the thing that has struck me about him is that he is clearly talented but he just doesn't do it consistently. He reminds a bit of Gabby in that on his day he can look brilliant but then goes on a run of games where simply nothing much happens and he has a bit of an attitude at times too which doesn't help matters. His brother is more consistent on the pitch but I do think that Jordan is the more talented brother, but whether it will ever come out on a regular basis is the question. I'm not convinced but hoping that we see more of the good than the bad.
