The Tim Sherwood Thread

Today was all about a set of players who aren't up to the job. The only reason to change Tim would be because the team may need a new direction.

Most Villa supporters understand that Tim's been put into an almost impossible position.

They do?

Today showed that we can compete I just think relying on Gestede is a mistake. Whilst Grealish and Gil are capable of crossing the ball it doesn't play to their strengths. I like the looks of Gueye and think him and Sanchez could be formidable.

Unsurprisingly I disagree, ok they were not good enough today against Chelsea, but the forward players in the XI could have easily played against Stoke and got us a win.  We were two-nil up away to Leicester who have been flying with our best players on the pitch, since then we've barely seen Grealish and Gil together and barely got a point.  The solution is just so blindingly obvious to me, and that's what worries me about Tim, how long does he need before he works it out?

Changing the manager will make no difference IMO, it's a poor squad that is not up to the standard of the league

What "squad?" We don't have a squad. Tim keeps switching everything around to "find the spark." **** that spark bullshite. The best players don't start, and there's not been a chance for the best group to get used to each other and a formation.

It's a testament to these players' skills -- some well-timed passing in dutch triangles, for example. -- that they have improved DESPITE Tim's machinations. Perhaps they are tapping into training they received at their previous clubs, or maybe Tim or one of his lieutenants has had a role, but he's undermined the "squadiness" of the squad repeatedly.

So are the players good DESPITE Sherwood...or are the players just not good enough all of a sudden?

Don't speak for us especially if it's completely bollocks

Exactly….we need a manager who can get the best out of the players we have. Personally I think properly managed they are capable of keeping us in this division. Somehow Tim and his mates in the media have created a false impression that he is brilliant manager who is being let down by his players. Yes the players are woefully out of form and confidence but Tim cannot absolve himself of any responsibility which seems to be his position.

Seriously, it's like a pack of wolves in here at the moment. Just because people have different opinions to you do you think it's OK to ridicule them? Pathetic

Nobody is being ridiculed for having a different opinion. Someone is being picked up for posting as if they represent a large section of the fan base and in doing so offering an opinion in complete contrast to every single indicator of fan opinion.

Assuming we lose to Swansea, which I think we will sadly, its going to get very very ugly at Villa Park next week. Time will be up for 'Tactics Tim'.

It's just ridiculously irritating and winds everyone up, at a moment when everyone is already really wound up.

There's a poll, linked on the forum. 90% of members want him gone. You know this. So when you pretend you don't know it, or that the opposite is true, the 90% of fans who want him gone get mad at you. It's just not worth it.

this thread, the poll and even just cursory looks at other sites ( avillafan, vitalvilla ) reveals widespread anger with Timmy, so I don't see where the evidence is for a claim that most fans understand Tim's position.

It's also irritating when someone uses "we" involving you as part of a collective and expresses a viewpoint you disagree with.

That poll? That poll is a joke. First of all, it's worded in a derisory way, and it's completely self-aelecting. It naturally attracted the haters.

There is a new poll today, you won't like the result though and you can try and dismiss it however you like but it's a more accurate reflection of the wider view of the fans than you staying your opinion and then imagining it's one shared by the majority.
