Brumstopdogs
Would have preferred if we went for someone more experienced but the Board have made a lot of odd decisions and this is another one. Welcome to the club Tim - I will support you until you lose several games in a row An exciting appointment - but a risky one.
krisagg75
don't think the 3 year contract is much to be concerned about as i'm guessing tom fox would've put a 12 month compensation clause in it.
Popular Post ReasonforRevolution
I saw Tim Sherwood at the Villa v Palace game on New Years Day. With reports of Lambert asking to be sacked earlier this year all fits into place. I think the reason it has been a quick turn around is because a deal was in place. Also explains his reluctance to go for QPR. First choice would of been Klinsmann but take my head out of the clouds and I am confident about this appointment. Positives are what he did with Adebayour and what he could do with Benteke. The youth policy which he seems to thrive on could fit well at Villa. Also he has been watching a lot of us of late so he knows exactly what he is getting himself in for and he must think he can turn it around. Forget the negatives for now and use this as an opportunity to get behind the team and get a feel good factor back in the stands. Good luck Tim. You have a nice derby on the horizon to get us on side. Tim Sherwoods claret and blue army.

Popular Post GeordieVillan
Reminds me of when we appointed Gregory. Lets hope he makes the same impact. This. Tim Sherwood is the closest thing to John Gregory since he left. I personally loved our time under Gregory. The football was hit and miss, but he spoke his mind, got the job done, and the team was moderately successful. We certainly weren't the joke that we are now and have been since Gregory left (other than the MON years). For all those that are saying that they don't like Sherwood's personality, I think we need someone with arrogance (like Gregory had), who is prepared to fall out with "big name" players if needs be. I'm genuinely excited about this, and think this could be the beginning of something a bit special over the next few years. Come on Tim prove everyone wrong. String a few results together with some goals, and everyone will be behind you very quickly.
foreveryoung
what formation and tactics does he usually use. He scores goals and attacks. Gil won't be the Creative defender as Lambert was coaching him to be.
jacketspuds
Will back him but the one thing that pisses me off is the bullshit club PR claiming Sherwood was much sought after. Was he ****, he would have got one of the QPR, Palace or WBA jobs if he was that wanted. Still witht this squad I expect Sherwood to keep us up. smetrov
I hope the honeymoon period lasts more than a couple of games because when the results dip and the players are obviously still trying it's going to get real nasty, real quick. Id kill fo2 a 2 game honeymoon period !

Popular Post Genie
Another disasterous appointment by the board following Houiller & McLeish. Again it's more mismanagement that has left them in a nightmare situation and panic decisions had to be made. Sherwood was probably the only person who would take the job which says it all. If he manages to keep us up then I guess he'll have been worth it but I think this will end in tears. Also some ITK that I heard on Football Weekly Podcast this week that apparently Sherwood's training sessions are a complete joke and a Holiday for the players, just what we need. I am not sad about sherwood being appointed, he's the wrong man and a complete tool but it's the state that this once great club is in that makes me sad.We are laughing stock. You are a laughing stock writing that before the ink is even wet on his contract. 60% win ratio at spurs. I'd take half of that right now.

GeordieVillan
Seems to me that Sherwood has been in contact with the club over the past few weeks and is also why he rejected the other clubs. This doesn't seem like too much of a panic appointment to me. I think he'll do alright. Yep, I reckon this has been in the background for a few weeks, and it probably explains the QPR thing. If he knew he was in with a good shout of the Villa job, thats probably why he was making crazy demands at QPR, if thats even true.
