Philippe Senderos

He has played well, but you can see he has the odd clanger in him, even against Hull there was a long ball through the middle and he tried to nod it to backwards to our player instead of heading it back towards Brad. I think what he has added, he isn't nervous with playing the ball out, he never wastes the ball, doesn't bother launching it. Seems to organise the defence well too. However if he has to line up next to Clark or Baker, we are in trouble.

It's been a good illustration of the fact that a back four is a team, a unit in itself. You have to get the right combination of players that will work well together. Arsenal's classic Dixon-Adams-Bould-Winterburn is a good example. Great individual players? Not especially. But they gelled. Amazingly, Hutton-Vlaar-Senderos-Cissokho looks like it might do the same. But it's early days - the next five games will be the acid test.

more importantly when is cissokho going to get the program and shave his head, so that the skinheads will be a complete defensive unit???

great start from big phil - a leader where we desperately need one, and one that you feel will throw his body on the line all day long for the team....

great stuff - lets keep that attitude permeating through the team and we'll be just fine....
