Transfer Speculation (Winter 2014)

I think it says we offered 2M Euro for him.

It also mentions the Metro.

2M Euro for someone who Barca see as their next big thing, nope.

Yeah it says we bid that for him and Barca will sit down and negotiate. I think players over there have to have release clauses in their contract by law, and as he probably only recently signed professional terms the fee isn't very high. They have lost a lot of young talents one way or the other through loopholes, they seem to have gotten a bit better at loaning/negotiating transfers to protect themselves. It's most likely all bollocks though.

Pissed we couldn't compete with Cardiff. Wanted Zaha here, would have been a fantastic loan for the rest of the season. I had it on good info Lambert didn't want to pay the fee thinking it was extortionate.

Well isn't that a case of we could compete but the manager chose not to?

The thing with Barca is that when they sell their young players or let their young players leave, there is a high possibility that they can retain those players if and when needed.

Spanish article linking us to that Barcelona kid, anyone translate?

http://www.elgoldigital.com/el-aston-villa-ofrece-dos-millones-por-la-joya-del-fc-barcelona/

Pretty much just quoted what the Metro said. And said all those other teams are interested too which is probably BS.

Going back to Zaha one second, it's come out Cardiff are paying United £1.5m to loan him until the summer. There's no way we're going to try anything like that.

Crazy, no wonder Lambert is falling off his chair at clubs look this for their players on loan

Well they're hardly going to loan him out for nothing are they ?

This is the real world. It's about time Aston Villa woke up and realised it.

Well, that is what teams tend to do when they loan out youth players to get experience. Teams tend to ask for fees for players close to the first team that won't start week in week out. Zaha isn't really on the brink of the Utd first team, so it's a lot for what is essentially a youth player.

May as well get in someone like Hoolahan permanently for that much than gamble on someone like Zaha for 6 months.

So you know for a fact we aren't paying the loan fee, or?

Having a go at the club for media speculation is something else :D
