Getting involved in a debate on the internet was your first mistake.

Hanoi's right, it wasn't. Getting involved with that woman forty-odd years ago was.

Had a great start of year conference call with the CEO announcing the exciting oppurtunities we'll have this year, beginning with dozens of developers working in India being brought in to our teams to help out, after we train them up of course.

Updating my CV is a lovely way to start the week.

I don't understand,  is this good or bad ?

IT jobs going to moustached men in India is usually about 6-12 months before the axe falls and redundancies occur, in my experience.

I'm weighing up whether to stick around for a payoff or GTFO before I have to fix all of their mess.

It's odd,  I cannot watch things like programmes about Elephant poachers,  whale hunters, babies in ICU's on hospital programmes or things that detail X set of monkeys will go exitinkt etc.  it is a relatively recent thing (say 3 to 5 years) where I feel so very sad that I almost feel like crying and I turn it off.  Like properly sad and if I see an advert on CNN for money to help stop poachers I flip this off also.

I am not sure if it is pure frustration or what but it's odd and my heart rate increases (Garmin fit bandy thing says so).

Am I unique in this ?

Oh shit, sorry mate.  I mis-understood the first bit.  That's horrific,  keep all your options open.

Good luck then.

Speaking as one who survived redundancy at my place (saw a lot of good IT colleagues go) in order that my company outsourced the majority of support to India, I feel your anxiety. I now deal as a go between for our front line staff who have IT problems and I liaise with these 3rd parties. If ever you've had to call an Indian call centre  (eg BT) then you can imagine my daily frustrations dealing with the mentality of a company who see us as just another client and they have no specialist knowledge of the industry I'm in, therefore cannot appreciate the impact of a systems crash in such an environment.

I could be here all day venting and raging but I guess my story has been told before so I'll stop now.

Yes, brush up the cv and register with job boards and good luck to you.

I understand why companies centralize everything, it makes production better,  more streamlined, there's more effective communication, less people, less problems la la laaaaa.

But.. what the actual monkey hell are all these thousands of people meant to do?  I mean, the massive companies all over the shop are condensing.

The place I work is the main hub for the largest American telecommunications provider outside of the US and they are constantly closing down space (offices etc).

In the last year I'd say 16 offices around the world have closed, and 1 big one opened in Eastern Europe.

I fear when driverless cars/lorries are doing everything for us.  Taxi drivers/logistic company employees beware!

Item descriptions for new £5 notes which are being sold on Ebay.  Absolutely retarded.  Here's a sample;

Asking for £10,000,000 - "A collectors dream".

A super rare 5 pound note in mint condition with one of the earliest serial numbers along side the name of the most iconic weapon in the world. "AK47 121648".

The AK47, the very best there is. What can be more iconic than one of the most recognizable symbols in the world? The weapon of choice for drug-lords and rebellious revolutions alike, rough-hewn from wood and iron, its simple construction belies an enduring example of industrial design. There have been more AK pattern rifles made than all other assault rifles combined, in fact, of all the small arms that exist today: 1 in 5 is an AK. Its utterly ubiquitous, found in every corner of the globe, and such is its influence, it even adorns the flag of Mozambique. A great equalizer whose reliability is legendary, and with a 100 million of these babies in existence, its popularity is unlikely to evaporate any time soon. From drug lords to peasant rebellions, the AK is everyone's favorite weapon. If you are a collector, this is a great opportunity to get your hands on the super rare 5 pound note which carries on it the most popular symbol of freedom and war, don't miss out.

This knobhead asking for £2,500,000 for a note because it has 666 in the serial number..

A very RARE £5 note unfolded serial number AL53 666 282  .. blah blah blah.

A Truly unique serial number and in effect this serial number shows the Queen's coronation spectulative deal with the devil to cause misery and death by destroying DNA - priceless

A superb satanical collector or illuminati collectors item

Item in immaculate condition.

This douche from the Wyre forest (maybe @Designer1? :D ) asking for £2,000,000

This is a listing for a £5 five pound note. It will have a unique identity number (as they all do). It maybe a new plastic £5 or an old paper £5.
If you take it into a shop you will find it is worth only £5. Just like all £5 notes are worth only £5.
The £5 note will not be the one shown in the picture as I have already spent that £5 (on gas). The £5 will be one that I get as change from a shop after handing them a £10 or £20 note to pay for items that have been bought from that shop. It will probably have a crease in its middle from having been folded to put it in my pocket for safe keeping.

Reasons for selling £5 at such a high figure....

I AM A VICTIM OF CHILD ABUSE and cannot get any help from the local authorities (police, NHS, government). They became aware that I was being abused when I was 3 years old (I am 44 in January). I have damage to my body to prove what happened to me. Even with this the local authorities refuse to help me saying that people will get in trouble and I am being selfish...

The damage to my body is...

Snapped breast bone that has refused at an angle of 30-40 degrees
Fractured skull that has left a lump on my head
Two hernias on stomach that have left a single lump on stomach
Ripped anus
...
Scar on forehead.

I have sent emails and letters to the media over the last 10 years asking for their help and have never received a reply. Not once. I believe that this is because I am not a football player and was kept away from care homes. It was my family that was abusing me and their associates who were helping them to cover it up.

The money will be spent on going to a different area from my own and going to a private doctors to get my body scanned to prove what has happened to me. I will then be asking for help off the police in that area. I will also be finding a solicitors to use in that area. I will also have to pay for a bed to sleep in at night. This all costs money which I do not have.

I will be asking the advice of the person who buys the said £5 note to see if their area would be a good one to go to. I will also allow them to come with me if they wish to prove to them that I am worth the effort.

I live in the Wyre Forest district within Worcestershire (for verification purposes so that you know an area I will not be asking for help from again).

This is a link to my Facebook account. Where I have been trying to get attention for over a year now to no avail. I've ended up just putting links to newspaper stories that I have wrote comments on in the MSN comments section. This has actually given me a bit more mental strength to put this Ebay listing and also helped me to start putting my sentences together properly. I have been a bit messed up mentally speaking which has caused me problems in putting together understandable sentences.

My Facebook page:

If you want to message me on either Ebay messages and Facebook messages please do. I am after a bit more moral support in my quest to get the help I am legally entitled to. Even if you can't afford to pay to help me I could do with the positive vibes anyhow. I am on my own and it is a very lonely experience.

I hope someone out there can help me. If you do see this listing please do tell your friends. I am trying to get attention to get some help. Obviously I do not expect anyone to give me £2,000,000 but I am hoping someone out there can get me the attention I need to get the money to pay for the body scans I need to force an official investigation.  Like I stated earlier I cannot get help in my area.

I have 2 listings on Ebay for 2 separate £5 notes.... Just trying to get attention. I do not know what else to do.

The money will be sent first class recorded delivery.

This guy is asking for £1,000,000 for 5 £5 notes..

The wall-to-wall politics on Facebook. **** sick to death of it. Even FB Purity doesn't filter it all out.

I like to have a look at FB and have a laugh not feel suicidal. Gonna have to do some un-following.

To the joke thread!!

What's big and cocky? :D

Just to be a bit dull,  the "Cocky" thing in drug dealing terms was actually the nick name of Curtis Warren.  It's something to do with being the "Cock of the manor" so to speak and will take on all comers to the area and all that rubbish.  I read a book that mentioned it.
