Leandro Bacuna

Definitely a decent signing got lots of promise and we still don't know what his best position long term will be.

In the AM role I thought he struggled to find the little pockets of space that someone like Silva is so good at. When he did get it his close control got found out a bit but it was pretty much his first go there so cant criticise too much.

One thing I liked about him was although he was struggling to get on ball you always felt like he was going to have an impact on game. Close shot from Weimanns cross, good through ball to Benteke and of course a very composed chip for the goal.

Reminded me a bit of the Anti-Ireland.

The baldy one was good at finding pockets of space but then just gave the ball back to the midfielder first time as though he was playing for Barcelona or something. He got a lot of the ball but never really did anything.

Bacuna barely saw the ball but nearly scored or created every time he did get it in space.

To me he is a box to box midfielder. Great engine, quick, strong, good balance, good technique, decent touch, can cross, can dribble, decent set piece taker, decent passer. At 20/21 is looking like a player with a very bright future. Is easily a 5 million pound player now already.

I would prefer him in midfield alongside Delph and a really good creative passer, but right now we need him to do a job at right back because Lowton has been terrible this season!

Westwood's passes are getting better .. Yesterday saw some good passes .. as for Last year ..

Although he just started getting his form back in the last couple of games ..

Thought Westwood's passes were very predictable yesterday, and his defending was atrocious.

Good signing for the money. 2 free kicks have repaid his fee already.

Don't see him being more than a decent squad player though. Will do a reasonable job in a number of positions but don't think he will excel in any of them.

Good player to have in the squad, seems to have a good attitude and would love to be proved wrong but don't see him as a first pick in any position in a top half team (which has to be our minimum ambition from next season onwards I hope).

A poor man's Milner I think, decent enough for our squad but I really don't like him at right back.

No, Milner is a poor man's Bacuna.  ;)

He's got a lot more pace than Milner! That ball through to Benteke when were were 3-2 up was sublime.

He was excellent last night, probably the MOTM for me.  He was our best crosser of the ball and his ball over to Benteke and long cross to find Lowton were absolutely first class.  A reminder that PL has found some absolute gems for the money he's spent (acknowledging that Tonev, Sylla and Bowery are absolute shockers!)

I bet there haven't been too many occasions in the premier league where a player has played as an attacking midfielder and then right back in the same game. I like to see Silva, Hazard or Oscsr have a go at that !

They need to update his position on Fifa to RB/RWB/RM/CM/CAM

Great observation. In addition to 3 goals and 1 assist, Bacuna has 47 tackles in 16 starts and five substitute appearances. Two of those goals were from set pieces, demonstrating that he is a set piece specialist.
