Stevo985 Posted September 28, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted September 28, 2015 Hutton is the better player, not saying Hutton is that good, but I certainly believe he's better than Bacuna at pretty much everything. Amazing how people see football. I'm completely the opposite.I'm with the good Doctor.Hutton is comfortably the better player.
BOF Posted September 28, 2015 Moderator Share Posted September 28, 2015 Bacuna has the edge on set plays. Hutton has basically everything else, but more importantly he has the clear edge on positioning and defensive responsibility, and in a fragile side that is absolutely vital. villaglint
I think they are both a weak link currently.Bacuna clearly delivers the better ball more consistently and he is quicker. Hutton pretty much wins out in every other area for me but not by great margins. I'd agree he's the better full back but its not saying much. Stevo985 Posted September 28, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted September 28, 2015 I don't even think BAcuna delivers consistently better balls.I think he's MORE capable of delivering that killer pass than Hutton. But I don't think he does it anywhere near consistently.

Hopefully ilori and Okore returning to fitness will give the Manager enough options to bin the pair of them.
tomh621
They both can't do 2 things at once like Amavi. Bacuna is better at attacking and Hutton better at defending for me.
Tom13
Hutton gets into loads of decent positions but his crossing is generally awful. Never shies away from receiving the ball though. He could have prevented Liverpool's opening goal on Sat though, the ball was loose from Moreno's feet and there to be won but Hutton decided to leave it. sexbelowsound
Decent performance today. Did the things that Westwood doesn't and some of the things that he does. One of the bright points in an average team performance.
Zatman
I was shocked by his performance and really should have been rewarded with a goal after brilliant work at start of 2nd half
sexbelowsound
Bacuna is a good player but inconsistent. Add that to the fact that he is almost on a level with Westwood and Guzan in the scapegoat stakes it's almost impossible for the positive things he does to come to the forefront in most cases. DCJonah
Not a fan of him usually but thought he did very well in his role today. Should be played there more often if he can keep that going.
Div3
I was surprised by the team selection yesterday which put him and Hutton in the side together, but could see the logic of it and I thought it worked a lot better than whatever is going on on the left of our defence/midfield. I think he deserves his place in the team albeit that our midfield looks quite lightweight and needs more strength in the centre defensive position. samjp26
Had a really good game and showed a lot of heart, very much the performance of somebody who has been here for a little while now.
GENTLEMAN
Yep. Very gritty performance, used his strength well and battled.
adw95
Considering that's one of the first time's he played in central midfield for most of his Villa career he did very well.
LancsVillan Posted October 27, 2015 Moderator Share Posted October 27, 2015 The fact that they subbed Moreno off was due in no small part to Bacuna supporting Hutton on that side so Hutton didn't get isolated.
Bunnski
He was really good tonight and deserves to start the next game, fair play to him.
dudevillaisnice
Still wince when he is on the ball. Looks like he is forever struggling to make a simple pass.
sexbelowsound
When he plays we create chances on goal. His defensive attributes aren't great but thats probably because he hasn't ever been a defensive minded player.
