Our sister title the Mirror claims Lerner wants £150 million for the claret and blues, with potential bidders waiting in the wings. It follows the latest set of available accounts for the year ending May 2014 revealing Villa have limited their losses to £3.9 million. According to the Mirror report, potential buyers include American outfit the Phoenix Group plus a Qatari consortium, members of whom recently attended the Chelsea game. Despite suggestions Lerner has been re-energised this season, it is understood that Bank of America are still trying to sell Villa on the American's behalf. It is hoped record new £5.136bn Premier League TV deal will attract interest, although it is claimed that there is no takeover deal close. Villa's Premier League future is in jeopardy at the moment with the club second bottom in the Premier League, with new manager Tim Sherwood charged with the task of keeping them up.
