If the best team in the league is this good then the others (or at the least the ones with aspirations) just have to find a way to compete. Liverpool in the past few seasons are an example now we will see if Arsenal can rise to the challenge or maybe the Geordies. The Premier League benefits massively by having Citeh set the standard. But other teams seem to follow the rules (which already favour the rich teams). Man City don't, hence the investigation. If it's true they've been cooking the books, every trophy they have cheated to win needs removing, and they need a lengthy ban from the premier league. 1

Popular Post pas5898
I went to the Man City vs Madrid game last night (My friend is a City fan, recently recovered from chemo so I drove for him) What struck me was, how routine it was, almost expected. Ignore the TV, except for 1 poznan and a little bit after the 1st and 3rd goals it was genuinely a quiet atmosphere. Like no excitement, fans weren't really into it except for their pathetic attempt at a ultra section behind one of the goals. At least 30% of the ground was Americans / well spoken students / tourist fans who were there for a day out, not really invested in the game at all. Guy sat next to me was a Rotherham fan, family in front of me were Leeds fans who's little boy just decided to support Man City. It's like Man City are the final boss in a game to make football a soulless, corporate, americanised, sanitised walk over. Awful. It's so obvious this needs to happen and they need to be made an example of. Look at Toney, relatively miniscule in comparison to the 'sportswashing', fraud and cheating Man. City are involved in.

It did take quite a while for the Toney thing to get resolved with an announcement out of the blue. Let's hope if they're found guilty the same will happen at City and the FA have the balls to do what needs to be done. Although for some weird reason I don't hate City that much I can't explain why I hate Liverpool and Utd so much more than them. Probably to do with the fans of the other two.

villa4europe
More court process, more hearings, more money spent on solicitors and more time... This will take years and cost millions and City will have stomach for it than the PL

Are Man City seriously suggesting that they haven't breached any rules that applied at the time they were funding Mancini off the books? Deluded surely... but no doubt they'll have far more intelligent people working on their case than the PL could even dream of affording and will probably worm their way out of it. Whatever decision is reached in the courts, and whatever farcical judgement is decided upon, I'll never recognise any of their achievements. They are funded by their owning state, not their sponsors, and they paid their employees off the books.
foreveryoung
Rules don't apply to the Arab countries, they are used to getting away with anything they want, an obviously think it applies here. I doubt in reality the FA or Prem will want the fallout, City are worth too much to them.

MarkLillis
Does anyone know the reason why they boo the Champions league anthem? I'm sure I've seen an explanation before but i cant remember it..... It was certainly strange to see them booing at the start of a game that clearly means so much to them.
