I don't know Jack Grealish, never met the kid, but I would put everything I own on him signing a contact extention with Villa. I've heard/read that he LOVES Aston Villa and if I was in his postion I would sign an extention because I LOVE Aston Villa. I personally have no worries over Jack. Mirror Sport can reveal Villa have opened contract talks with attacking midfielder Grealish over a new four-year deal at his boyhood club. The highly-rated youngster turned 19 this week and is out of contract next summer, alerting a host of big clubs including Chelsea and Manchester United. But Grealish and his father have held positive talks this month with the Villans' boss Paul Lambert and assistant Roy Keane about staying. Although he is already an Irish U21 international, Grealish is unsure about accepting an offer to play for the Republic’s full side while there is still a possibility of wearing the Three Lions instead. MirrorSport understands he politely declined a chance to train with Martin O’Neill’s full Irish squad during this international break. Grealish is expected to commit his future to Villa by penning a new deal before Christmas after further scheduled talks. After impressing in pre-season, he has come off the bench in two of their opening three Premier League games. His performance against Hull in the most recent match of Villa’s unbeaten start to the season was highlighted on Match of The Day and he is in line to face Liverpool this weekend. Boss Lambert was close to including Grealish in his starting line-up on the opening day at Stoke as he was so excited by the 18-year-old's potential. Villa are now anxious to secure the left-sided player’s services on a long-term deal and Grealish is willing to stay, attracted by the prospect of regular games for a club he has watched as a season ticket holder and been a part of since he was eight. With the next four games against Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and champions Manchester City, Grealish knows he has a huge stage to impress. Personally I hope he chooses England, as I'm proud to see our players representing my country, but as long as he's at Villa that's the main thing. People talking about him getting tapped up - I don't see it as an issue. Secondly he felt Irish enough to represent our country up to U21 level. It's now when he suddenly thinks hmm maybe I'll play for England. I think it's as simple as England will have a better team and more importantly he'll make more money if he's an England international. At the end of the day it's his choice, the rule let him change who he plays for until Senior Level. I'll lose a huge amount of respect for him of course if he decides to switch to England after the work Ireland has done at under age level with him. But this isn't confined to just Grealish, Mark Noble could play for Ireland now and that's just not on either. I do not agree with people changing nationality after U21 level for what is certainly only personal gain. If McIlroy had said he'd represent GB at Olympics having never represented any country bar Ireland in any international golf tournament before at any level I'd feel angry. People put lots of work into his career with the Ireland set up and to turn his back on them would have been selfish. But Rory is Irish so he had no intention to do that. Grealish is going to wait to see how Ireland do this season in qualifying and then decide they're good enough to let me play in a World Cup or European Championships. I don't like that. If Jack does declare for England then sure it'll be annoying, but Ireland have benefited plenty from players who've played for other countries underage setups before declaring for us. What goes round comes around, win some, lose some etc. As for Stephen Quinn being mean to him, Jack should have told him to **** off back to Pennsylvania. It's just the whole principle of being old enough to represent your (sorry a) country at U21 level and then change who you play for. The rule was daft when it was brought in 8 or so years ago. Obviously as he's such a good talent it has some higher importance than another player would. But he's felt Irish enough to play for Ireland up until now. I think what he's doing is giving Ireland a chance to show we're not totally useless and look like we'll qualify for the Euros then he might play for us. Otherwise if we look like crap and he's doing very well he'll declare for England. Switching Nationalities, for me anyway, smacks of using what is on offer for your own gain.
