This makes zero sense. Ship Baker out on loan, sign a veteran defender, and then get another team's young centerback? We have Okore, Clark, Senderos, Richards, Lescott, and even Crespo now. Why would we need 7 center backs? Oh and I forgot Sanchez can play there too. I can't remember if I read this, heard or even dreamed this. Apparently when Baker signed a contract extention recently, he had it written in his contract if Villa sign another CB and any team comes in to loan him (Baker) Villa have to let him go out on loan. I just can't remember where I've got that from, but it's been stuck in my head a while now.

One of the main reasons for me thinking anything to do with Remy at this stage is bullshit, because medicals with other teams have often shown up something, having a medical this late in the day wouldn't be the best for Villa.

If that was the case I would be very happy that we have Lescott and take Berbatov as a bonus because hes better than nothing. I really hope Tim has a plan B, never wanted this guy at Villa park and I still don't....Villa have never payed a player 100k per week and they shouldn't start with a 32yr old word removed who only plays for money.

How reliable is this guy? Interesting if true. Starting to think our interest may be genuine. Do players really follow their pals like that? He should use his head not his heart IMO, it's a long career. If that still means Stoke then fair play, I won't begrudge him or them, but I hope he's a bit more adult about it than that suggests.
