To be fair Adman doesn't seem to live his life in the public eye and continue to display the hallmarks of a Coke head.

For those who maybe didn't see what I wrote before, I used to live with a professional footballer and I'd often socialise with a few of them for a few years. OK I was young, impressionable etc but most of them were doing ecstasy and/or Coke every single weekend. They'd hit the clubs in Manchester, London and Brum.

They knew when drug tests were scheduled and even if it was a surprise someone would know and give them the heads up.

There's a lot of smoke around this fella, there has been for years and it's not a new thing.

Coke in football has also been around for decades -

Exactly.  He had a lot of people covering his back at the villa, those people don't need to anymore.  And the new people at city - I doubt they feel as protective over him.  I would even guess they're a bit angry about how much he's costing them and concerned his influence will affect others in the group.

Like I said, it will come out in the wash.

Is this like when certain guys can't take being dumped so they call their ex a whore and such forth and make up absolute nonsense to ease the pain.

Yeah she's a filthy sket I didn't want her anyway!

I don't wish jack any harm at all. Despite his fame and wealth, I feel quite sorry for him and worry about his mental state.  I think the writing's on the wall though unfortunately

Lots of people continue to wish him well - a lot of the discussion is about concern and worry about his self-destructive side off of the pitch.

Yep its definitely more concern from people than bitterness

This is ridiculous, nobody is saying that hate him, calling him a filthy whatever or hoping bad things come to him....

I also feel like there are hallmarks, he's going down a path which seems difficult for him to turn away from.

Seen it before with friends and i see it in him. It's sad to see.

As I said before, i can't believe it isn't standard at every club to have a piss test on one random day after training every week. Bloody hell even every day? Its not hard to wee in a bottle. If you got nothing to hide, no problem

In Australian Rules Football if you claim mental health you are exempt from drug testing.

Think it was Greg Evans who said training under DS was moved to a later time just to accommodate Grealish. Some players, are just different and need to be treated differently (Gazza, Merson, Cantona)

For all the talk of Fergie and the "hair dryer" treatment in the AF documentary he understood Cantona was a maverick and allowed him to do what he wanted (he'd disappear mid week and be the best player on Saturday). The other players never resented that because he was so good.

I think Dean Smith understood that, which is why he got the best out of him.

At City he is one of many, he is expendable and will not get that special treatment.

Hate to say it but this transfer is looking better and better for us!

Except that it looks like Villa wasted the £100m, and have reverted to the team we saw struggle without him.

Some players need an arm around the shoulders; others need hands around the throat!
