Hoof hearted
I think Jack's form proves his head was definitely turned in the summer. Just seems disinterested.
VillaChris
Not had a good season for me. Guess it's only natural he'll be disappointed not to go to Spurs particularly with our season going south. High standard he set between January-May last year, was unplayable in many games. Worth remembering Spurs wanting Berahino a few years ago. He didn't get his move and lost interest and Spurs lost interest in him. Now look where he is. Popular Post NurembergVillan Posted September 15, 2018 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted September 15, 2018 He's playing far too deep this season, and even then when he gets the ball there's usually only one player in front of him - the striker. The wide men are always level with him. Our formation this season looks more like a flat 4-5-1, whereas with the same personnel it could easily be a 4-1-2-2-1 away from home and a 4-2-3-1 at Villa Park. Grealish is a victim of Bruce living in fear of losing his job.

One For The Road
I have to say, I have been quite outspoken about the overhyping of our academy players and to me, Jack is no different. Yes, he is better than the likes of Gardner, Bannan, RHM, Davis etc but he is nowhere near the player some seem to think. This is the 2nd division, not the Premier League and yet STILL he doesn't dominate games and certainly doesn't score goals. He is good player at this level but that's as far as I see it right now. Not Prem class and not worth the ridiculous amounts being touted but still an important part of our bottom half of the Championship side.

TRO
Jack is certainly not showing his usual form right now and is definitely playing too deep. It was interesting listening to Mowbray talking about Dack…..and commenting on him HAVING to score more goals to make his name as an attacking midfielder. Jack will need to do the same IMO.....but right now he is nowhere near last seasons form.

Dr_Pangloss
When we're turning down £25m bids from Spurs, and he clearly did want to leave in the summer, he simply needs to do more, he is not dominating games at this level and whilst you can point to Bruce's ineptitude, we're simply not seeing enough quality from him. As I've said before, people were arrogant to laugh at Maddison's fee and suggest that Grealish should be substantially above that, Grealish isn't a better player than James Maddison. John
Jack has not been at his best so far this season but every player suffers from the occasional drop in form and Harry Kane is a current example of this. He will come good again as will Jack. We all wanted him to stay at the club and we got our wish. Now is the time to back the player. He has not become a bad player overnight. He has new players around him and he needs to grow familiar with playing with them as do they with playing with him. Let's get behind Jack and the team as they try to play themselves into something approaching the form we had hoped to see from them. To accuse Jack of being in a sulk and disinterested because he didn't get his move to Spurs is an all to easy conclusion to reach. Could it be that he's just unable to carry an under performing team alone as he did so regularly last season at the moment? Playing poorly is also unlikely to get the so called club of his dreams coming back for him in the next transfer window if that was what he actually wanted. Could it be that he's already where he wants to be and is as frustrated as we are concerning how things are currently going? He's one of our own and we should not be turning on each other quite so readily. Jack will come good again and he needs our support now not just when we are winning and he is playing a big part in making that happen.
Demitri_C
Playing pretty poorly so far this season. He seems to running into brick walls and taking forever to release balls when we go firward. Was very frustrating to watch yesterday, wasn’t driving the ball forward like McGinn was trying to do. Fans are quick to moan about a lack of loyalty, where is our fans loyalty when a player hits a tough patch. I think once the team settles, the new players bed in and know what they are doing and develop an understanding then Jack will come good again. Too many new faces at the moment, with no continuity in the team. We are only a handful of games into the season, and some of the new players have played 2-3 matches together.

Form is a weird phenomenon.....if only any of us knew why they lose it at times. for me its clear ,those that rarely lose it are the best. stand up Paul MCGrath.
