This was a very calculated attempt to get a yellow card, not a red. He wasted time at a throw in, made a handful of reckless challenges and even grabbed hold of a guys legs while lying down. He even made the sign for yellow card towards the ref begging him to give him a card Really impressed that the ref saw through this and ignored him. a m ole
Referee should have shown a yellow for the foul and another for dissent in asking for a card, or unsporting behaviour, or showing a lack of respect for the game.
villa89
A last minute winner for espanyol against Madrid, first time they have beaten real since 2007.

Good on the ref though.

Saw something on twitter last night, they've beaten real atletico and Barca 1-0 this season all with goals scored after the 88th minute

It's absolutely superb refereeing not booking him ah good point, it’s only a one match ban isn’t it. or is it a two-match ban because the double-yellow-red coincides with an accumulation of yellows? Zatman
Atletico are on fire at the moment, probably the form team in Europe since turn of the year. If keep Griezmann in summer I suspect they can win the title again next season. Have settled well into the new stadium
The_Rev
Ronaldo hits his 300th (and 301st) goal in La Liga tonight, it only took him 286 games. I know everybody knows that Cristiano Ronaldo is just a ridiculous human being, but that strike rate is genuinely astonishing. He was being accused of having a poor season before the Spanish winter break, he's now up to 30 goals in 32 games. Not bad for a bloke who is in his mid thirties.
Zatman
Also he did it at Real Madrid not just anybody but the greatest team in football history
theboyangel
Currently watching the Barca vs Atletico Madrid game and cant say i’ve enjoyed it other than a quality Messi freekick. the rest has been stop/start due to diving and play acting by Costa and Suarez (surely not!) its so frustrating as a spectacle.
bobzy
Messi's 600th career goal. 600. Astonishing.
VillaChris
Messi and Ronaldo just push each other constantly, very much like Nadal and Federer in Tennis. If both can play into their late 30s their overall goal records will look astonishing especially Messi's.

lapal_fan
Could leo get 1000 goals and assists? You'd say he's probably got 5 years.. but at his level, you'd be saying more like 7 or 8.. that would be 50 goals or assists per year.. a hell of a lot, so I'm gonna say no Saying that, 600 is only goals, surely he's got 100 assists over the years? VillaChris
Messi could play into his late 30s I reckon although he'll be deep in midfield by that time. Still he could keep bending free kicks into the top corner at the age of 50.

The_Rev
Ronaldo has now scored 21 goals and provided 4 assists in his last 11 games for Madrid. His form since January is bonkers, even by his standards.
