Devil's advocate 3 players that aren't going to regularly feature anyway and that's the rub

Well, there's a reason for that....

As Gerrard said, we're not here to collect players. And in the real world, where it's not a computer game many things have to allign before people move on or come in. Righto.

But there's no point in us hanging on to players who are lacking in ability. And building a competitive squad is literally our game.

Yeah not a computer game. Players are employees with families and the club has invested in them and has a duty of care. We can replace players x y and z who won't be in first regular team and have to go in cold in rotation games and some people will still bitch "play the best XI every game FFS"

When we signing Pedro Neto then?

I think he's what pretty much everyone expected Bailey to be.

Gave Torres a horrible time in the second half, far far too good for them.

Neto is a top player, doesnt he have a bit of a ropey inury record tho?

Yes he was looking quality for them towards the end of Nuno's time and then did his ACL and it took him a good year to get back into this sort of form.

Just had a look and he's been linked to Arsenal regularly so he'll probably end up signing for them.

Yet Bailey has probably outperformed him in the league since he got to England

Neto averages 2 goals and 3 assists a season since moving to England

This is what we have to be careful about.  He looks a superstar but doesnt have the numbers to back it up it seems.  Is it him or the team he plays in and the managers that have managed him. I don't know.

Still hope we try for Nico Williams again as long as he doesn't sign a new contract in Bilbao.

I think the queue has lengthened quite a bit now unfortunately. The usual free signing leeches Barca and Juve are there.

Surely there's no way he's going to leave on a free? Having given it the big one last summer.

He hasn’t outperformed him and it’s also easy to forget Neto is only 23 as he’s played quite a lot of games. He’s a very good player.

In the last 2 seasons he got a goal and an assist in 30 games

He has 2 more Premier League goals and 7 more assists but has played nearly 40 more league games than Bailey
