Id happily have had a hungry youngster like kesler given a opportunity than chambers in a game like this

If you are willing to accept mediocre players when they are called in and rarely deliver thats up to you but as we can see squad depth is essential when you arr in europe so its not even being backup now its about competing with the ones who are 1st choice

Well the scouting department is an absolute cop out line. We brought in a highly paid player for competition and he cried to the media already

Ofc - altough you'd expect us to have a back up option, and I'd argue that right back is a bigger concern with Moreno hopefully returning soon.

Come January we need to get a new back up GK immediately! no further debate about this is even now necessary followed up by a forward player who can play up top and to either side of the attack, maybe a new CM to compete with Mcginn because im not happy with Tielemans. 
 

i warned those that were happy and calling it a 10/10 window because it was far from it… we didn’t do nowhere near enough to ensure we had quality in all areas.

People keep saying this but what back up keeper are you expecting? Serious question, nobody is taking the No.1 and we are playing conference league. AZ and Mostar isnt some glamorous teams

Thibaut Courtois.

He would come for a reasonable fee and play only in cups for us. Wouldn't want much salary either.

So your logic is that because Tomaszk hasn’t given a name, it means that there isn’t a single keeper in the entire world of football that could do a better job for us than Olsen who has now cost us three cup competitions? 

The excuses for that absolute waste of space we call our second keeper are laughable. Utterly woeful excuse for a keeper. And that isn’t based on him not being able to play out from the back. It’s based on him not being able to do anything whatsoever I’d expect from a professional goalkeeper.

He is nothing near what you say there. If he was he wouldn't have 65 caps for Sweden and being praised by several managers. Some examples that I have repeated in the Olsen thread, in the Euros he top performed against very good teams, in the qualifiers away to Spain he made one of the best performances I've seen from a keeper, warranting headlines in Spanish papers like Spain - Olsen 0-0, etc etc. Obviously both the Gerrard and Emery coaching staff have deemed him good enough not to be replaced.

I didn't want him as our no 2 when he came here and I want him replaced asap for several repeated reasons. He has not been good for us. But what you say is exaggerated, narrow minded and silly.

No the logic is its not some easy job. Idiots were saying sign De Gea as back up

2nd choice keeper is a very unique position and we are not in a position to sign a quality one. Man City dont even have a quality one

Raya left to go arsenal to be rotated with ramsdale so shows their are keepers willing to be rotated

Very much an unknown quantity now after only playing a total of about 300 minutes of football all competitions since May 2022.

1.5 year loan with option to buy would be fine but doubt Arse would go for that. Half a season loan with option to buy would be too short a time for me to feel comfortable about signing him full time even if he does well. Too many injuries and especially those groin issues. Don't want another Coutinho situation.
