Emery to be joined by 23-year-old coach at Aston Villa – Staff member follows him from Villarreal

That’s according to La Voz de Galicia, who say the Spanish manager will be adding the Villarreal coach to his team at Aston Villa.

Emery was confirmed as Steven Gerrard’s replacement yesterday, with the Villans moving quickly to pay his release clause to get him out of Villarreal.

La Voz follow that up today and say he ‘takes Arias with him’ having decided to keep him as part of his coaching staff in Birmingham.

Apparently we’re getting Jaime Arias too, looks like he was a youth coach before I think so not clear if he’s coming in that capacity or as an assistant or other coach… we shall see

Yeah I believe it’s “Hi-may.”

Hi-me depending on the regional dialect.

No idea who he is or his credentials but I am sure he is already an upgrade on Gary Mc

Came to say exactly this.  That man has been useless for us twice. How he found his way back to us under Gerrard is another (one of many) black mark against Gerrard's name.

Is that Jaime with a silent "j"?

In Portuguese the "J" is pronounced as in English e.g. Jose becomes "Dy-ohzay"

In Spanish a "J" is silent e.g. Jose becomes "Hosay"
