If Gerrard and Beale and co can get the second half performance against united from the start we will be in with a very good shout of 3 points. If we're playing two 10s then I want to see only one of Ings or Watkins up top.

Everton’s first team isn’t that bad as their position in the league.  They’ve had lots of injuries who are all back now, they had a misfit manager who is gone, the players  will be lifted and on a high….  Because of the Gerrard factor it feels like a derby game to them…

im worried.

Target has also taken out himself, Coutinho, Buendia, and Watkins.

McGinn has also taken out himself.

Not sure how much you can read into this unless they messing about? Don't really know how it works to be honest.

Help an old guy out - what the hell is this about?

And it's pretty obvious our first team should be nowhere near our position in the league either.

Nothing to fear from the new manager bounce if the manager is either big Dunc OR Martinez, both are limited, it's unlikely either will be in place in time for any meaningful impact on the team this weekend, and if it's Martinez then this lot are still firmly in reverse gear getting faster. They honestly need Steve Bruce.

New manager bounce  is not related to the new manager having different training methodologies etc or necessarily being a better manager. It comes from the uplift in atmosphere in the team with the old manager having got the sack. It breathes a little life into the team and players often up their individual performances. I think the worst possible manager for Everton (from a Villa perspective) is Big Dunc. He has motivation and pride in the Everton shirt, he will give the players a rocket up the ass and they will put in a good performance. Ideally we would have played Everton after Dunc had about 3 or 4 games and the team realised that his coaching skills are crap and they then get pissed with the club for not getting a proper manager in by then

I know all the transfer talk and rumours are exciting, but we really need to get back to winning games. Today should be a game where we should have enough for 3 points. I'll be bitterly disappointed if we don't win.

Totally agree. Is a real feel good vibe at the club currently but we need to start picking up wins also.

The upcoming schedule is favorable and we need to exploit it.

Excited to see Coutinho and Buendia linking up today, hopefully both are fit and can start together. Or Phil comes on earlier than the last game.

Ramsey enjoyed playing with them too…

Please… no more Ings & Watkins together 🙏

Will be good to see how Digne does too, encouraging signs last game.

Yeah we really need to go on a winning run asap, our position isn’t good enough - we need to climb that league table.

Transfer activity can’t take away the fact that we have underwhelmed in our performances (a full 90+ min one please) and results (overall) so far this season. It’s time to correct that and finish the season well.
