Could have been a club led exercise in leakage via intemederies to some press to gauge fan reaction....

I love this level conspiracy theory 😁 because it feels like the likelihood of it being true is relatively high

Leakers are likely to get the info before the Villa media guy IMO.

The Villa media guy would likely be doing damage control to be fair.

It's his job.

Nothing should really be coming out and/or confirmed until the " right " time.

Either that.... Or we are doing a Cooper with SG. Lol

Bournemouth, the team many thought would rival Derby for the worst point total in PL history, sacked their manager and are now six games unbeaten and four points clear of us. Get him out.

It's just very hard to imagine the process by which Football Insider get access to a scoop like this before someone like John Percy.

What FI have seen is well-sourced stuff like this:

Which then leads FI to take a punt on Gerrard being sacked this week, and try and get ahead of the news, despite having no more info than the rest of us. This then drives fans to their website and they collect the ad revenue.

And because they don't have to actually invest in proper journalists or networks of sources or a professional web team + editors, or any of the usual shit, it's a pretty good business model for Wayne Veysey's Breaking Media Limited. If you check their accounts on Companies House, they managed to pile up £235k in their bank account, with only TWO employees! God knows how much he's taking out of the business, but sounds pretty lucrative if he's able to leave over 200 grand in there.

(And not accusing him of doing this, but of course it would be possible if you were particularly unscrupulous, to cash in on the betting markets, knowing that your "scoops" are going to dramatically swing the odds.)

All these fake ITKs are just jumping on the bandwagon now so there's no news to report, what it does demonstrate however is that the tide has well and truly turned.

It might take weeks rather than days, but either way Steven Gerrard's goose is cooked before Christmas. Purslow et al are just delaying the inevitable by doing nothing now. 🤷‍♂️

Let me be the first to say bye Steven, don't let it be a long goodbye please.

Even if we win the next 2 games Gerrard still needs to go. I have no faith whatsoever that any kind of form or game plan will continue beyond a couple of games.

If we have the opportunity to bring in Pochettino, Tuchel or Emery now then we have to take it.

Let them use the World Cup break as a mini pre-season.
