MaVilla
someone really needs to do an "all Buendia's touches vs Manure".......i think it would be a right highlight reel. @Villa_Vids

I’d say Buendia’s vision and desire to speed up the game is better. Yes agree Emi is quicker thinking and passes with more pace. He was like a man possessed yesterday ManU could not handle him. Towards the end of the game Matic resorted to wiping him out completely which of course the ref didnt card him for!

Jas10
So pleasing to see him finding his feet here now, he’s a special talent and a key player for us. Creative genius. Just needs others to be on his wavelength, surrounding him with more quality (like Coutinho, Ramsey linking up well too) will only improve us and make us a more formidable team. You have to make intelligent runs for him, he will create all game… Dropping a CF would help too

El Zen
It feels like he’s finally arrived, just like I knew he would. He was my first choice signing in the summer, and he’s now showing us why. What a player.

That's where I disagree and why I have been defending him, in every game this season his movement and work rate has been absolute top class, often he has been the only one making runs, wanting the ball, showing up for throw ins, making himself available and trying to play one two's etc. It's first now that we have a settled formation and style of play and the players have started to click, it also helps that he has a passer in Luiz behind him and who picks him out with intelligent passes (like for Ings goal the other game). He has said himself that he wasn't at his best at the beginning of the season, of course he needed a bit of time to adapt to the PL again, new team mates and wasn't he partly injured as well during the pre season. So I agree he deserved to get reviews early in the season that his performances wasn't top class, but what I turn against are the people who just writes him off and are overly critical and refuses to see what he actually brought to the team even in the early games, and didn't take these circumstances into account. Like today he brings a lot to the team even if he doesn't score, assist or even if he loses the ball on a few occations.
Guest av1
What was also very noticeable yesterday was how strong he was on the ball. Big improvement

Thats the point, he wasn't palying well initially and now he is. confused.

What i love about him is he is absolute quality on the ball, some of the passes he tries are sublime, but also he works his a** off tracking back and hustling, what a player. Buneida should be one of the first names on the team sheet, and with Coutinho, as a pair they are going to cause some teams nightmares. Can confirm I questioned him initially and have since wobbled my head. Would recommend the head wobble. 1

Quote He said: “I think people on the outside might have been wondering when Phil arrived what it meant for other players in the team and the squad. “But we want as many good players here as we can, we want players who can play together. They (Buendia and Coutinho) have been shining in training together and they obviously get on well with the South American connection. “We haven’t brought anyone in to replace Buendia, he’s a big player for us and he’s going to contribute and help us a lot moving forward.” Gerrard said: “He was my personal man of the match. OK, there were a few things within the performance that I’m sure Emi will try and improve, that’s the sort of kid and character we’re talking about. “He epitomised what I wanted from the 90-minute performance. He was competing for headers, he was sliding and won everything he could out of possession. He died on the pitch, he was getting kicked and some of his football was terrific. Just that real energy and passion and fight, committing to a game-plan, I was absolutely delighted with Emi and he’s been getting better and better each week. “We’ve sat him down and spoken with him about certain situations but I really loved his performance. He epitomised everything that I want to stand for.”
Jas10
He’s really going to thrive here now, the admiration of SG and link up with quality players such as Coutinho is only going to help further. Class player, needs others to be on his wavelength and he will create chances galore.

villalad21
I much prefer Buendias style of play to Grealish slowing the game down trying to win free kicks.
Popular Post MWARLEY2
I think we can be all guilty ( me especially ) of judging people and situations too early. I tried to hold off judging him but about a month ago came out and said that he had zero composure. All the ability in the world but absolutely no composure. And as usual i have been proved wrong because i judged him too quickly and didn't take everything into account. As Gerrard alludes to there are somethings that still need improvement but in terms of his play he has improved massively. And you can see it in his face and actions. He is full of energy and belief now. No more strops as he is now happy and playing well. I can imagine for a player that was incredibly good at assisting and creating last season and then getting his big move, to be really poor and nothing coming off was a big smash in the face for him. Emi ran the game on Saturday once we had a foothold. All the players would look to Emi and give him the ball knowing that he would do something with it. Now i heard something about Coutinho that was interesting. He doesnt run games. A Liverpool journo said he was a " moments " player. . He might be out of the game for 30 minutes but then when needed will come up with a piece of brilliance to win you the game. This is interesting because i was worried Phil and Emi might be too similar. But the reality is that i think when they are on the same wavelength Emi will create stuff for fun for him. Like he did with Pukki. So, bring it on. Bring on football that we have never seen before. Football with imagination. The fear of other teams has gone now. Because they honestly have so much to fear about us. There are multiple threats now . Look who we could have on the pitch over 90 minutes who are goal threats Phil, McGinn, Ramsey, ings, Watkins Carney, Jaden all being fed by a confident creative Emi. RichW
Can't stop watching some of his highlights from the Man Utd game. Every time he gets the ball just feel like his going to make something happen. Hopefully we will see him and Coutinho link up behind Ings/Watkins starting this weekend.
