The people who believe vaccines don't work, racism isn't a problem and climate change is a serious issue aren't believing because they're "playing devils advocate". They believe them because they're idiots.

Some degree of devils advocate is good.  As much as we like to believe that our initial intuitions or the prevailing narratives toward a certain issue are completely correct, more often than we realize they aren't. The ability to pick apart the argument or the conclusion you believe in(whether its you challenging yourself or challenging someone else who has the same arguments and conclusions) and perform some introspection is a very good trait to have. Its how you reach stronger and more infallible arguments and recognize mistakes in your beliefs.

So climate change isn’t a serious issue?

So a start ?

A cameo from the bench ?

Or not even in the squad ?

I am not sure this would be the game to thrown him back into the starting line-up after such a lengthy absence.

If we're winning comfortably then a 15 minute cameo wouldn't do any harm.

The reason why people believe that bs is they don't have reasoning skills and the Devils advocate presents the 2 arguments as equal and valid.

There is a difference between using an alternative hypothesis in research to further develop the information you have. But once you have it in the mainstream. Having 1 climate scientist vs 1 denier presents the issue as a 50/50 belief. When in reality 99.9999% of scientists believe climate change is a serious issue. The Devils advocacy is a joke and should never be used as the basis for a discussion surrounding something that is completely factual. If it's subjective sure. But not if it's fact.

I know you are trolling but this graph is dumb as hell. If you look at all those major dips and troughs you are talking about mass extinction events in every major rise and every major fall. Just because we are currently in an ice age doesn't mean we want every region to be tropical or desertified. If the temperature increases or decreases by more than 10 degrees Celsius every million years (5 degrees in a shorter period) results in mass extinction.

Just to be clear the single worst mass extinction event as well is caused by climate change as well. 96% of ocean life died.

Ligament injuries are far more complicated than leg breaks too. It’s like comparing apples with quantum mechanics.

Also sports science has changed the way injuries are dealt with. It used to be that they would take a couple of rudimentary scans to ensure there was no structural damage and ask the player how they felt before chucking them into the fray. I’m sure if they really needed Sanson to play tomorrow, he could, but they obviously want to make sure he’s up to speed in terms of his fitness levels first.

Be happy they’re doing this the right way. Your club and it’s assets are in good hands.

Even if it ligament damage 5 months is towards the upper end of the expected recovery and that's for the ordinary Joe in the street without access to quality of care & treatments available to MS.

Strange - but the club have never given a diagnosis of the injury (tbf they don't for any player unless a major injury) - the most we heard was "twisted knee" and then MS saying it was much worse than first thought. He did also say something along the lines that he was struggling with the intensity of the PL - I wonder now if he is working on that aspect.

Better take if off topic but is it all a load of bollocks then?

Glad to see Sanson back too.

No it’s not. I’m a geoscientist who studied climate. It’s by some distance the most dangerous threat humanity has ever faced.

But on another note….Morgan Sanson!!!!! Yay!!!!

Haha, the timing of that couldn’t be better.  Well I don’t expect him to come on…

Think he might. I have a feeling that today will be a train crash unfortunately.

Interesting also that those dips and troughs all happened without any human interaction.  Even if we do somehow manage to help slow down climate change,  there is going to be an event that wipes us out at some point, completely beyond our control.

Grim extinction thoughts aside, Sanson back in the squad is great news (albeit relatively insignificant).
