UpTheVilla26
Be interesting to see what their dimwit owners do next weekend. Probably wheel out Dolly Parton and have a ho-down while that knobber American they have in charge walks around shouting random crap and hi-fiving everyone thinking he's doing a great job. 2
imavillan
a weakened Norwich team should still be good enough to not lose to that rabble and that will be enough we need to rally everyone for this game 2

useless
Norwich can't rest their entire team on the last day, rules were introduced after Huddersfield did it, to stop it happening again. Besides Norwich have a much stronger squad than Huddersfield had, so them resting a few shouldn't make much of a difference, the players that come in will be decent, and will be wanting to force their way into the starting eleven for the play-offs

What's 'Arry up to. Surely they can have a nice round 10th manager of the season and it worked out well last time.
Mark Albrighton Posted April 27 VT Supporter Share Posted April 27 Annoying that Hull drawing was the ideal result for them. Means that Hull still have half a chance of the play offs so will be up for it against Plymouth but Hull are unlikely to catch Norwich so they won’t (or shouldn’t) feel the pressure to get something purely because of Hull. It’s going to come down to how much Norwich want to avoid Leeds in the semi finals (they lost to them twice this season, drew on both occasions with Southampton).

Norwich obviously won’t want to lose the game. Strictly speaking they can still lose and remain where they are, even with a Hull win over Plymouth. Which would obviously be ideal for sha. But yeah, fair enough, Norwich should just have enough cause to turn up and try and get a reasonable result.
useless
Norwich have to go for the win, they can't afford to take anything for granted, all it would take is for them to take it easy, get beat by three goals, and Hull to thrash Plymouth by five and they would fall out of the play-off places, or for them to lose by four and Hull to win by four. Three or four season's back Nottingham Forest were in a similar position, lost big on the last day and ended up missing out on the play-offs on goal difference when they had looked guaranteed to finish top six. These beat Coventry 3-0 recently, they're actually not that bad at home, and as it happens Norwich are very poor away from home for a team in the top six, only Huddersfield, Sheffield Wednesday, Plymouth, small heath, and Rotherham have worse away recods this season, so they wlll know that they will have to put in a good performance to make sure
VillaChris
Think the issue will be if Norwich are just 1-0 down and they hear Hull are only winning 1-0 so in that circumstance you save yourself for the play offs in the last 20 minutes. They really shouldn't be as bad as Preston or Coventry were at least as they have finished top 6 for a reason and their attackers will cause SHA ponderous backline all sorts of issues. Look at how Huddersfield opened them up for the goal today and they'd barely had a shot in the first half.
useless
The better news regarding Norwich's position in the away league table is that much of it's down to poor form in the first half of the season, in 2024 the only teams to have beat them on their travels have been Middlesbrough, Leicester, and Leeds, and in the Middlesbrough game Middlesbrough were down to ten men for the last sixty minutes. They'll play a full team.
calcifer
I think Norwich will have no choice but field a full strength squad and go for the win, Plymouth are dreadful and Hull could score a few. So the turd that has been stinking up the Championship for a good few years is on its final flush
zab6359
I really can’t decide what I like looking at most us sitting in the top 4 or them sitting in the bottom 3. I feel like putting a bet on to have them stay up at least it’ll be a little compensation to the joy of having them get relegated win/slight win situation! 1
