Who is excusing other people in the set up? I’m certainly not.

I just think the way all of a sudden Shakespear is being blamed by some is a little ridiculous and frankly comes across a little like just another excuse in favour of Smith.

Yeah but who is doing it? Aren't you getting worked up about something that isn't really happening beyond a handful of speculative posts that didn't go anywhere?

Wasn't he a German guy we took from Arsenal. FWIW having somebody study Football Manager isn't a bad thing was probably ahead of his time in terms of thinking out of the box ideas

Whilst it probably isn't at the level you could stick it on your CV and get a job, I imagine on that side of the football world you'd get a lot of funny looks if you didn't play FM.

Supposed to be rated. But if the Leicester story was all true, should never had had him here in the first place.

Was the demise of Ranieri, now the demise of Smith, well done Shaky, well done.

Was he the demise of Ranieri? They were 1 point above the drop-zone, thats why Ranieri got sacke. He took over and they  finished about mid table and got to the champions league semi

He will be sad to leave his boyhood club, but philosophical and determinded to get back in the game and continue his career as he knows that his assocation with Aston Villa isn't what defines him but just a small part of his whole.

Leicester never got to the CL semis, knocked out by Atletico in the quarters.

Further change and instability with Shakespeare also leaving. Played a big part in last season's success. It seemed that we had finally built a solid base in terms of coaching within 12 months or so have ripped it up and starting again.

We all lauded his appointment a year and a bit ago and now on the scrapheap. Guess that's football.

He enjoyed this frankly weird trend for claiming that the assistant coach is the real brains behind every top manager.  Everyone saying he was the real masterind of the Leicester PL title.  People got over excited by it.

Turns out he just looked like another jobbing coach. When Dean looked short of ideas he didn't ride in on a white horse, whisper in Dean's ear and turn us into Champions league challengers.

Not his fault, just got a load of OTT expectations when he joined.

I still think most assistant bosses are like Phil Neal.
