He had 3 touches.

zero service whatsoever. did about as much as duran did (minus the poacher's goal) for the same reason.

the defence got the headlines for the wrong reasons, but going forward was equally as diabolical tonight.

Pretty much this. We created nothing in the 2nd half.

Not sure if this is old news, but just seen Chelsea and AC Milan links to him.

Apparently a " strong target " consideration to replace Giroud.

Via an Italian publication and Birmingham Mail.

Must mean the contract negotiations are still ongoing, agent wants a bit more per week 😉

It would be utterly stupid to sell him for the sake of a 60k differential unless we get a ridiculous 80m+ fee.

Give him 130k a week with rest loaded on goal bonuses and everything will be fine. It’s an entirely reasonable request when others like Digne, Tielemans and Kamara are earning similar.

Twitter today suggests we are some way apart: the club has offered 4yrs at £100K pw but Ollie’s camp are holding out for £160K pw.

On this basis he is being sold.

He better start scoring if he wants that payday. Could understand his camp getting carried away during his run... But realism strikes again. Wants to be the highest earner. Club have to balance his demands against where it puts them in any other negotiations

60k a week is a lot of money.

It's probably more than Durans wage.

It could be a point of contention, because Ollie has the history, but not the form to back it.

I wouldn't get carried away, it'll take a while to come to an agreement. Wouldn't be the worst thing to replace him though, given his limits.

Who do you replace him with though? Without having to spend a huge fee and a lot more on wages.

I hope he stays he's been class for us.

It’s actually not a lot of money relatively. It’s circa 3m a year x 4 year deal = 12m. To protect a very important asset easily worth 60 million+ in the current market.

Give him 1.5m guaranteed and the rest on bonuses and everyone is happy. Club has zero wiggle room after paying Tielemans and Digne similar amounts and strikers would get more typically anyway.

Get him wrapped up and then we should go and buy the striker we really need and keep Ollie as the perfect rotation option across all forward positions.

Show us the money and take him!

Anything at £60m and above and we should snap their hands off.

He better get scoring soon or the club will revise the offer to £50 a week and a packet of quavers.

Against Palace, the missed chance when put through on goal by the defender was talked about a lot, but the worst thing of his in that game for me was when Cash whipped it in across the 6 yard box, and he just stood there and watched it.

It went about a yard infront of him, get anything on it and its a goal.

Just shows the lack of anticipation and awareness in the box compared to the next level up forwards.

I wonder is Unai’s plan to spend big on an elite level striker next summer. Paying Ollie that level of wages might impact on those plans.

The thing is, there is no elite level strikers coming to Villa anytime soon. Is only about 5 in the entire world and we are down the food chain
