It does show how the u21 league fails players. Grealish is far too talented for that league and shrugs off players with ease, something he can't do at senior level. The reserve league gave younger players to play against senior players without the stress of the full first team. For me that helped develop players so much more.
OutByEaster? Posted April 11, 2016 Moderator Share Posted April 11, 2016 Cracking game this - we're 3-2 up, both teams have had chances to score and we're down to ten men after a god old fashioned twenty man brawl!

Popular Post sir_gary_cahill
I was in attendance at villa park this evening, it was a great spectacle, I sat next to first scholar Louis hall, he's a very nice, well mannered young man. There was real entertainment on show from both sides, the scorers were Khalid Abdo who was one of the best players on the pitch, Andre Green who put in another very productive performance and Corey Blackett-Taylor also scored. Martija Sarkic- I was very impressed by him, he's very commanding, he's a good size but he's also very mobile- 8 Josh Webb- Mr Dependable at right back, one of the best players I've seen play for the academy, great one-on-one defender, he'll have no shortage of takers in the summer- 8 Oscar Borg- It was the first time I had seen this player since he signed for the football club and I was impressed, he's a good size and solid defender- 7 Rory Hale- Very consistent performer, he always puts a good shift in for the team, very rarely loses the ball, very influential player for this team- 8 Easah Suliman- 18 years old plays like he's 35! Rolls Royce of a defender, never puts a foot wrong, brilliant player, very composed, easy on the eye- 8 Kevin Toner- Another great performance from this lad, he's a blood and guts style defender, always gives 100%, very impressive- 8 Adama- He should produce more than he does, has so much talent but he's still young and can improve, he needs to get his head up, so much potential but that's all it is at the minute- 7 Khalid Abdo- Best player on the pitch, he was outstanding, never loses the ball, just glides past players, very easy on the eye- 9 Kienan Davis- He's got a lot of potential this lad, you can see why we bought him, his build up play is top class, he's got an awful lot of potential- 8 Jack Grealish- For me, he should be gliding through u21 football, he has so much ability, a few moments of brilliance, I'd like to see a bit more work rate- 8 Andre Green- Very good performance from this young lad, has so much natural ability, he works hard as well though, lovely goal he scored- 8 Subs: Corey Blackett-Taylor: Lovely goal, has real potential-8 Callum O'Hare- Very good cameo, also has potential- 7 Kelsey Mooney- I like him, works hard and always puts a shift in- 7

mikeyp102
Is Hale playing at the back now? (If he was number 4)Thought he was a striker when we signed him?
villa4europe
To be fair they were 2 **** loose tackles. Deserved to cop one for that, and the red card, idiot Really? I thought he won the ball on both tackles, both one footed and in control, West Ham player reactions got him sent off The only problem was that it was his shit touch that started it all

mwj
Lol "got the ball" ok. Let me throw one in at you like that next time we play and we'll see how generous you are then...
StefanAVFC
He was sent off for the headbutt, not the tackles. The ref even makes a headbutt action as Toner is talking to him at the end of the video.
sir_gary_cahill
If we can get 2 or 3 of these players through to the first team then the academy has done it's job once again. I'd say that the signs are looking promising, it's quite possibly the best youth team we've ever had. It was a very good attendance for a youth game last night, it was a pleasure to be there
sir_gary_cahill
I must say that I didn't think much of their wonder kid Reece Oxford, I thought we gave him a torrid time, he'll probably go on to star for West Ham and England now I've said that

PieFacE Posted April 12, 2016 VT Supporter Share Posted April 12, 2016 Those tackles are fine imo. Maybe the ref should tell the lad to calm down a bit, but there's no way any of those challenges are red cards. The headbutt on the other hand, yeah... red card all day.
