Really we only need to spend around 30m as prices will be lower due to the corona. I do think if we remove Smith we have a great chance of coming back up as no leeds wba and brentford/fulham Lol if prices are lower because of Covid then the money we get for our players will be equally lower. It's relative.
useless
Just read this point in the Jota thread... People are being too simplistic about it, next season shouldn't just be about players that are decent enough for the championship, it should be about players that are a class above most other players in the championship and have the promise to become good enough for the premier league. We don't want a team of players that have already proven that at best they're average to good in the championship, and not good enough for the premier league, because for one they will struggle to come up automatically, which should be aim, and even if they did manage to come back up, we'd have to change the whole team again upon promotion which is one of the thing that contributed to this season being so difficult in the first place.

We got him fir 20m and now he is a England international Edited July 5, 2020 by Demitri_C

Ideally we need to have it sown up with 10/12 games left. I want us to smash everyone next season. No pussyfooting around.

useless
If we filled our team with the likes of Jota, Hourihane and Hause and said it's okay they're decent enough players for the championship, we probably wouldn't come back up anyway. They're okay to have as options down there, but if we're serious about coming back up automatically we need to build a team that's notably better than most other teams in the divison. Not only a team but it's also important to get the manager right, whether that be Smith or someone else, as we saw the last time we were in the championship it's no good spending a lot of money and having good players if you haven't got the right person to coach them. useless
If we will be playing with one striker, then I think those wide forwards will be most important to get right, can see both El Ghazi and Trezeguet leaving, so we will need to sign a couple of decent ones.

Especially if Ffp regulations are loosened which they probably will be unless half the championship starts in negative points, we could probably keep our best players and sign some new quality ones and head straight back up. Anyone who gets the RB Salzburg gig is on to a winner. The league is a one horse race. They can out spend every one and delivering a league is bare minimum so of course it will look impressive on a CV. He did quite well in MLS but again, that league. Now if Marsch went on to have the same level of success his predecessor at Salzburg has had this season in the bundesliga you'd take notice but it's hard to say just how good he is. Depends how bad our finances are, if we can't support the club then you have to sell but because we have rich owners it is unlikely imo.
