Absolutely

However, this.

It would be like a palace fan saying let's go get grealish

No1: he wants to be at a club playing European football

No2: his wages will be way out of our budget

Which in this case was refusing to play. He knew he'd be leaving on a free after the extension and didn't fancy playing, getting injured and missing out on a move to another team. It's the wrong sort of attitude to have and something we need to move away from.

Not true. His contract expired on 30th June 2020. He simply refused to extend his contract, and from what I gather Eddie Howe felt that meant he couldn't select him for the 2 matches he was eligible for in June.

Zouma maybe but I can see wages being a big stumbling block. Rudiger is a big physical presence but he is prone to a hell of a lot of mistakes and has the first touch of a brick wall - I'd avoid him because I think he would look very bad in a side who doesn't dominate. I'd prefer Konsa to him.

He can at same time look class in other games. But i appreciate the point he can make mistakes which could be costly. But i have to aay under sarri he looked a lot better. I think Lampards coaching has had an effect.

Christiansen also being allowed to go

Belotti £40m

Benrahma £22m

Eze £18m

Buendia £20

As much as I like this I just dont think we can if there is all but 100 mill to spend, we would still have to deal with a subs bench with no way to affect games as weve seen all this season.

Then what happens if any of those four signings get injured, the troubles start dont they because we have no one who can simply jump into there place and be effective enough. I just dont think four players is enough, I wished it were. If we had of had many more of last seasons signings be more better on field agree with this i would. Even after restart there were only a few that looked much better than before lockdown like Luiz, Mings, Trez. Ghazi, Nakamaba, Lansbury, Jota, Samatta, for one reason or another were a let down most of the season before and after lockdown Thats five right there alone that we should look to make signings to replace on subs bench just so we have players who are capable coming on field. Then there'd be your four players also above, that's nine signings right there alone wed be making, realistically I think we will be trying to make more signings than less.

Said it yesterday for £100 mill I’d go for Weston McKennie, Karol Linetty, kristoffer Ajer, Dwight McNeil, & Buendia and Patrick Schick. All 1st class additions to go straight into the team and I’d add Hickey & Turnbull for young squad options with any change.

Sorry but I don't think this is accurate.

From my understanding his contract expired on 30th June (as is the norm) so was eligible to play in their games from the re-start until that date but to play beyond it (2 games if I recall correctly) he would have had to extend his contract.

From what I recall he turned down the short term extension and so Howe then said he wouldn't play him in any of their remaining games after the re-start (which I think was a little foolish given the outcome). So unless I've missed something Frazer didn't refuse to play after the re-start he just refused to extend his contract.

Now people can think ill of him for that but that is very very different to refusing to play. I'd also point out Nakamba refused to play in order to get his move to Villa as did Benteke but that is beside the point as I don't think he refused to play.

As for turning down the contract extension, I'm not sure I blame him and there could have been any number of reasons for him doing so both personal or professional. It would have been a hell of a gamble for him, what if he broke his leg in the last game and then had no contract and any Bosman deal is out the window. The guy is what, 25-26 his next contract is almost certain to be his biggest and quite possibly his last, it is almost certainly his last chance of playing for a bigger club at a better level.

I know as football fans we are emotive, we view it as fans and idealistically expect the same from those in the game but its these guys careers, their lives, their family they sometimes have to make decisions for themselves and they are often at odds with what we think they should do. They are also at odds with what we think we would do in their shoes, the reality is in most cases we probably would do the same.

So unless I've missed something, I don't have an issue with what he did and I think Howe made a big error. If I'm wrong and he did refuse to play, well as I've said we've signed people who have done that before including last summer so I could live with it.

I think he is a really good player and if we could get him on a free I'd welcome it.

It’s happening!

After the incident of the 12 year olds disgraceful comments towards Zaha on twitter, I think there are 19 other teams he would rather move to than us

Maybe, maybe not. He apparently got more than 50 similar pondlife's messsage him similar after reporting it, so that would rule out a lot of clubs. Or Chelsea 50 times over ;)

So would i. He is better than aeg jota and trez

Absolutely.

If the scenario were to happen that both Jota & Trez leave then Moses is not a bad option to have fighting someone else for the shirt in that position.

It would be an astute signing if it were to materialise.

Wouldn't take Zaha on a free. Think he's shite.

I have also never seen him do anything. But I’m assuming I must just be missing something given how much everyone else seems to rate him. Glad someone else has said this, even if we are both wrong!

I understand your point of view. This was just a question of ‘100 million to spend on 4 players.’ So getting more players was not an option 🙂 Getting these without anyone leaving would put us in a better position IMO

if we can get rid of Jota, Lansbury, Kalinic and replace them with something better, I am all up for it. I do not want a transfer summer like last year however, where we buy a lot of players to get the numbers but not enough quality.
