Guest av1 Posted April 12, 2020 Share Posted April 12, 2020 I've just left the house for the first time In days to get gas and electric (I'm on pre pay), I walked over to my local shop and there was about 6 lads all congregating around the door smoking funny fags. When some other bloke ahead of me looked uneasy about walking through them, one of the chavs shouted 'we've not got corona mate' As I approached I was thinking say that to me you little tramp and you'll have no teeth either. Tesco were given 100,000 names of the most vulnerable by the Government and had been in contact with them to see if they would like a home delivery as they're all booked up into May now, unfortunately by plenty who aren't self-isolating and able to get to the shops themselves. Most of the customers today were too frightened to open their door to me. Those who did were in gloves and masks and it was their first interaction with someone for weeks. They're trying their dammed hardest to stay safe and alive and then you get w@nkers like those who couldn't give a toss. One or two of them could very well have it but not be showing symptoms. The absolute ignorance of these fu*kits! Normally, we don't deliver on Easter Sunday but it's been such a humbling and rewarding experience. Not sure how the other drivers had it but my 2 runs were rammed. 31 households I've been to today and nearly 2 tonnes of items delivered. They're not panic buying either. They've just not been able to get a delivery slot and were down to the bare bones and some lovely ones who used some of their allocation to get supplies for other vulnerable neighbours who fortunately/unfortunately didn't make the list. I hope that post didn't come across as a, 'look at me, I'm doing this' thing. It's just the stark contrast in behaviour to what @av1 had to put up with. The beers are going down well. Not back out until the evening run tomorrow so all good. I'm out delivering in a large town and then the quieter Welsh countryside. It's those who are doing it in cities that really blow me away.
