And had we played like we did today  we would have got more out of those games.

But we don’t and therein lies the problem. Smith can’t get the best out of his players apart from once in a blue moon.

That is why we’ll get relegated and it’s on him.

What is their best? Davis had a golden opportunity off that pass from Jack in the first half and he touched it with a cinderblock for a foot to Allison. We were always going to get few chances on goal and we absolutely bottled the 3-4 we had. I’m pretty confident Trez, Samatta, and Wesley were not his choices. Our attacking options, at the moment, wouldn’t make it into the Top 4 in the Championship. We were setup well and matched Liverpool for 70 minutes. Can’t see a way to lay the blame on Smith today.

I think its been well documented that there is a team in charge of transfers and its not all the managers decisions.

Its been documented? The only thing ive ever seen is we have a sporting director like a lot of other clubs do, where are all these documents saying the signings or some of them arent the managers decisions?

Another failure today.  Klopp and his players could have been on the beach and yet as predicted they took this game more seriously than we did and worked harder for the win tactically and physically.

Villa's owners by keeping the failed manager just want to go down apparently.

Have to preface this by saying I myself have plenty of criticisms of Smith and think as much as the squad is shite there's more that could have been done with it, but...

The only people I've seen slate him since that game and not think we set up well and were unlucky against a far, far stronger side who could bring such firepower off the bench are Villa fans that have it in for him already. Says something.

Anyway, as much as I want to say it was encouraging it's just hard to see where the goals are coming from. Still don't fancy our chances to pull it off but we've actually looked better than both Watford and Bournemouth since the restart.

It’s hard to judge in isolation, because that isn’t how the season unfolds.

His subs are usually late, and he seems to be married to his tactics.

More importantly, our squad is woeful. We will be lucky to survive.

Arsenal and Man Utd left then to get a single big scalp.

It will actually be kind of impressive if he manage to go through a whole season without a single unexpected win.

And yet 1 pt off 17th.

Its almost like every year there are a selection of poor teams who struggle to get points, with 3 of them going down.

Crazy I know.

Yeah but why is that dc? Only because bournmouth and Watford have been as hopeless as us. When watford beat norwich and we lose to united we are 4 points behind them.

Its over for us.

Smith is predominately to blame but suso is also. Both need to be sacked as soon as season ends

Watford will soon beat Norwich and be 4 pts ahead of us.

Not on him today whatsoever but still think he should shoulder the majority of the blame for where we are as over the season as he has not been good enough time and time again...

28% possession with another routine surrender. It was hardly the battle of Rorke's Drift.

Smith failed. Yet again. We gave up. Again. We didnt adjust. Again.  We got tactically found out. Again.

Dean Smith is not good enough for this league. Some of our players may not be either but we cant change them right now. We can change Smith. Get him gone and give us a tiny chance at staying up.

There are no positives to take from this game. Unless Purslow does his job and fires Smith today.
