Yeah I've heard. Funnily enough I thought the Nikka coffee grain was kinda bad. Maybe the malt is better.

I've tried both. The grain is awful I agree.

I'm in Canada, and have had a wide range of average beers, and a few good ones. The three best so far have been:

Crimzen Red by Lost Craft

Ice Aged Amber Ale by Old Credit Brewing Co

Doc Perdue's Boxing Bruin IPA by Cowbell Brewing Co (possibly the best, despite its name and imagery kind-of celebrating bear-baiting :-/)

When I'm in the States, I enjoy Sam Adams.

Outside of the states it tastes not as good.. weird and saddening.

Conversely. In the states I have it and don't think it's as good as when I have it here. Same with American wine. Never had a good glass in the US.

Have had some smashing wine the past few days. If anyone uses wine clubs I recommend

Virgin : 2017 Hummingbird Sac Bland from SE Australia

Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvée Spéciale 2016

Naked Wines: Peter "Juicy" Gajewski ( absolutely banging )

Terra Nera 2017 by Dom Hentall.

All cracking. Current bottle is a bit mark and mild so far but hopefully it grows on me. Picked up a couple of bottles of Gem bath ales earlier for a change of pace for tomorrow

That looks lovely! Must check that out

Well worth it. Best (regularly affordable) beer I've ever had.

At 11.3% it's more of a "sip with dessert" rather than "pints with mates" drink though!

I'm sure you're all following my Canadian beer-tasting adventure with bated breath, so you'll be happy to know I've found a new favourite:

Ambear Red Ale by Cameron's. Lovely biscuity amber ale. Genuine top brew that.
